The trailer is was nothing impressive, but most trailers don't leave me feeling that impressed.

I guess my question is why they would show something that shows absolutely nothing, given how late they've been at getting this info out finally. Even an unimpressive trailer can at least show what the game is going to look like in motion. That trailer appears to be edited to show the exact opposite.

It's crazy they way they edited that clip to ensure we never actually get a solid look at what the game and player animations look like in motion.

I'm not so sure that's actual gameplay.
2K producer WWTC stated on 2khockey.net that this was a scripted trailer.
So I'm not so sure how much actual gameplay is in this video.

Yeah, the camera panning the D player's butt from several inches off the ice kind of gives it away.

So I'm not so sure how much actual gameplay is in this video.

The shot of Ovechkin crossing the blueline (23 sec mark) and the D player suddenly pulling away from him in the opposite direction towards the boards, looks like it could be gameplay. The player clearly isn't behaving/responding correctly, and I don't think they'd intentionally script something like that into their trailer.

I noticed that too. It's as if someone was controlling him and forcing him out of the play so that Ovie's special goal could develop.

I'm really starting to get 2k9 vibes here. Prolly not right to judge off a minute long, heavily spliced together trailer but, lack of blueline defensive pressure, goalies doing that weird studder when resetting after goals, awful looking stickhandling. Now they just need to announce dial a dekes and the circle will be almost complete.

Realm, why not wait it out dude and play the game before thinking it's going to be like 2K9? Heck at least wait for the demo. Are you just trying to convince yourself you don't want the game or trying kill anyone elses optimism?

It is so comical how people fly off the handle after a video like this which essentially tells us nothing about the game. Until we see a long gameplay video to judge the AI, there's not much point arguing about what might be good or bad about a game.

I personally can't wait to see what VC does with the game after having a full year.

Truth is I feel like he is hoping the game is bad so he can be like "I told you so." If this game happens to be an amazing and he comes back to 2k. I will take him back, but I will be smiling. Right, Realm?

I never get why people go out of their way to blast 2k hockey. If 2k hockey goes away, EA hockey will never see any more improvements. Sports games with no competition are usually mediocre... at best.

I haven't bought a baseball game in many years, and I stay clear of football now as well.

Of course people shouldn't support 2k hockey just "because", but maybe people could give it a fair shot, as they could significantly improve this year.
