Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Let's not minimize this point (I'm a little biased cause he's a fellow cap fan) I like the fact that EA is around with a solid game. Look how good both basketball games are this year. Both companies are pushing each other. 2k's hockey team has only 2 years of development and has a pretty big task to match EA's progression but they have made great strides over last year. I hated to see Kush leave 2k cause I thought they were REALLY close to making it a no contest
No one's minimizing it. It's just that most people are sick of the comparison fight threads.... or threads that are made into comparison fights. We get it. They're different. 2K screwed some things up. EA made some advances. Different guys see it differently. Whoopdy friggin' doo. You like 2K, buy 2K. You like EA, buy EA. You want to directly compare, buy both. Just everyone shut up about it already.
Back to our regularly scheduled program (this is the Patch thread):
Amen re: defense. Also, how about making the stick sweep more effective on knocking the puck out. Too many little dickheads online think they're great because they can waltz in on the passive defense and ineffective stick sweep and press a button on autoaim and score.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
All I know is the quality of the mentioned Patch will make or break this game I feel for the rest of the year. If there are alot of major along with some of the minor issues addressed and no other bugs rear their ugly heads afterwards, 2K10 may get alot more of my time and even bring in some new customers yet.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Welp NHL10 announced their patch around Nov. 5th, "your move" 2K....
I agree though if all they fix is the ref freeze and the online stuff (aka stuff that shouldn't have been there in the first place) Then that'll be a wrap on this game for a lot of folks.Pittsburgh - 2009 City of Champions! YES WE DID!Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Long thread for no details on the patch.
I have not had any freezes in well over 50 games.
The goalie jumping out to get the puck happens too often but more with goalies that give up a lot of rebounds.
I don't really have a problem with the way the defenders play, it depends they could be more aggressive but then people would probably complain that they couldn't get off enough shots.
Not perfect but I like it, curious to see what this patch brings.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Some people not having it at all means it's not coded in the software. It probably means conditions on the systems are causing it. Lenses? System temperature maybe? I don't know.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
I have gotten used to the stick sweep, not as effective as 2K9, but maybe that was too effective. I have started sometimes just holding my stick out to interfere with the guy instead of trying to take the puck all the time, too me that is a little more realistic.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Stick sweeps/pokes seem fine to me, fairly realistic. You need good timing and body positioning to make them work consistently, which is true to real life.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Ok, now that I'm messing with it more I agree with that about the stick sweep, but for the love of God the defensive maneuvering when switching to manual control is horrendous. That and changing back and forth from front to backward skating. There HAS TO be more control with this.Comment

Re: NHL 2K10 Patch Mention
Great news about the patch. It's nice to see the NHL series getting the same attention as NBA and MLB when it comes to patches. I think it shows the confidence 2k has in the series and ensures that we can look forward to NHL 2K11. Thanks!Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment
