well, don taylors and Co jokes is downright abusing to my ears. Although , they commentaries seems ok in NHL2k3, not brilliant, but they game itself rules.Comment

I really like the play by play guy since he was the guy that used to be in all the old PS2 sports games. He did the play by play in MLB 98 and usually did the PA announcing. The color commentator on the other hand is truly pitiful.
I agree with the repeating though. If I'm in a close game and there is under 4 minutes to go the play by play guy will mention how important faceoff wins are in close games before EVERY faceoff. Sometimes it's like 10-12 times you'll hear him say it. Still doesn't detract from the game since it is so damn good.Comment

A review said that the commentaries was good in that they seemed to try to analyse the game, but it got somewhat monoton?
Anyway, the annoying comical commentaries of NHL2002 sucks. They were the best 98....without the goofy additions...

Commentary is terrible IMO. Franchise is dead last compared to MLB, NBA and NFL (sega's games)...but it still whips butt on EA's game. Gameplay is 100% better which is most of the deal anyway.....fantasy draft is better than EA also...so I can live with the bad commentary....NKL 2k3 is a very good effort relativley speaking.....Comment

Yeah, they're definitely not the bright spot of the game. At least the one guy gets excited every once and a while when a cool save is made. And one of them sounds pretty Canadian too.

Yeah. I just played my first game of NHL 2K3 and I don't like the commentary much. The color guy gets on my nerves. I liked the comedy commentary of EA's. The commentary here is definately not up to speed to any of the top sports games at all, but at least the gameplay seems to be fine. Hopefully next year they work on the commentary more to make it more real and with more life. I'll still play the game though cause the gameplay means more.Comment
