    NHL 2k3 and the n00b

So I'm thinking about switching my Metroid pre-order to get NHL 2k3. I've never really been a hockey fan, but I'd like to learn about it. It was playing Madden that turned me into the rabid NFL freak that I am ...

Anyways, as I say, I don't really know hockey strategy, etc. very well. Is NHL 2k3 just going to be too advanced for me? Will I be able to learn by playing, or is it just going to prove frustrating? Is NHL 2k3 a post-graduate course in hockeyology, or can it also serve as Intro to Hockeyology(Hockeyology 101)?

And - one specific question - are there international teams *and* arenas? I've watched enough to know that, at this point, I prefer international play over NHL. So I'd like to have that option. It seems more of a finesse game on the bigger ice ..

As long as you don't try to start on All-Star, you'll be fine...

It has four skill levels from rookie to hall of famer, so you should be able to find some skill level that fits you well.

You will learn quick, my NHL fascination started with NHL94, and I love the game today, well , and sweden rules in hockey
NHL2k3 is gonna rock , I ordered it this saturday
Just raise the diffuculty level as you get better, and watch some NHL nights You´re gonna be hooked. Although Metroid also seems to be a great game .

Yeah, I learned the NFL through Madden, so I'm hoping to duplicate that with NHL 2k3. And Metroid *does* look great, but I'm working my way through MGS2, and will be picking up Splinter Cell. I can only do so many "plot" games simultaneously.

Plus, the fact it's on XBL makes it all the more irrestible. I can't wait to get killed by y'all.
