Cound someone break down the different positions for me? What is a winger, defenseman, center, forward. Please explain. I want to learn the game, I bought 2K3 and my first game was fun as hell!"Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Basics
Center - handles the faceoffs. Is generally responsible for covering the middle of the ice. Heavily involved on offense
Wingers - Also heavily involved on offense, but pretty much stick to one side of the ice. Usually responsible for covering the point (see below) on defense.
Defense - plays deep in the defending zone and behind the net. On offense, stays just inside the blue line at "the point" Responsible for keeping the puck in the zone (onside). They're usually the ones taking the big slap shots from far away.
Any more questions, let me know! It's a great sport!!“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis Black -

Re: Basics
No prob! Oh, the term "forward" includes the centers and wingers.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment
