Yep... you just have such better control of what your trying to do once you get the advanced controls down. I'm still not perfect with them, but I LOVE them! To be more specific, there are 2 things that I now NEED to do in order to be successful that I can't do with the basic controls.

The first is having 2 different buttons for poke check, and hook. Before I used advanced controls I was getting WAY to many penalties... and constantly hooking players when I just wanted to try a poke check. With Basic controls, unless you are facing the player I found it almost impossible to execute a poke check.

The second is having different buttons for a slap shot, and wrist shot. This is definitely my favorite... being able to fire off a quick slap shot is sweet! Using the basic controls I was getting all of my slap shots blocked as I held down the shot button. While you can still hold down the shot button for greater power and accuracy with advanced controls, it's so nice to be able to pull off a quick shot when neccessary.

I actually never even tried the intermediate controls, so you may be able to do these things with them too. All I know is I would feel VERY handcuffed if I was forced to go back to the basic controls now!
