    Luongo on the trading block

He might be heading to the Kings for Frolov, Brown, and Garon. This would be another one of those 60 cent on the dollar trades.

It's been reported Luongo has already turned down a 5yr/25 mil extension. It's clear he wants to get paid but also play for a winning team.

He's never played in the playoffs before. I believe Luongo is an elite goaltender. I hope Nonis has already called Keenan to see if he's interested in Bertuzzi. I would glady swap Bertuzzi, Auld or Cloutier, and a prospect for Luongo.

I think Luongo is one of those guys that get tons of hype but won't live up to it. So just about anything Keenan gets for this guy will be a win-win for him.

That's the problem. They'd probably have to take one of Hatcher/Rathje to do it...

If I were the Kings I would not give up Frolov. Also right now this isn't about the money for Luongo, he has said a number of times the reason why he has turned down the deal was because he wants the Panthers to show him that they are going in the right direction. He doesn't want to play for the Panthers if they are noting going to put out a winning team.

Didn't Florida recently re-sign Olli Jokinen to a multi-year deal? What more proof is Luongo looking for? Sounds like spin to me. He wants out.

What has Frolov done that warrents him being an untouchable player? I would think that dealing him, Brown & Garon might be a little steep, but to get a top tier goaltender that's what you have to do. They do not have a young goaltender in the minors and I dont think there is another goalie on the free agent market so you have to trade for one. Frolov might become more consistent, but he might not fit in with the new coach and GM. The Kings have needed a No. 1 goaltender for a long time and this deal would do that. If you can sign him to a deal before you make the trade I say do it.

Luongo single handedly won me my fantasy hockey league two seasons ago, because the commish mades saves like 30 points each so i got like 900 points a game from him

Wouldn't mind the Bruins actually doing something and trying to trade for him, but that's highly unlikely.

Luongo isn't a big, slow lumbering defenseman who won't fit with the new NHL rules. No way Clarke makes this deal.

Whats not to be sold on? He's put up great numbers on a perennial bottom feeder. I'd love him in Edmonton.

Re: Luongo on the trading block

The Panthers should move him now because it sounds like he's going to leave next offseason. I think Luongo is acting like a baby about playing for a team commited to winning (the Panthers did re-sign Jokinen, their best skater), but the Panthers may have soured the relationship by taking him to arbitration last summer. I'm hesitant to call him an elite goalie yet. He's very good, but needs to do something in the playoffs before he's called elite. They will get a good return for him, rumors are the Wings are offering Datsyuk and Jimmy Howard (a good goaltending) prospect along with the Kings rumor. I think it'd be best for the Panthers to get guys who actually want to play there.

No way. He'll cost WAY too much toward the cap, especially with guys like Peca, Pisani, Stoll, Horcoff, Spacek, Samsonov and Hemsky as either UFA's or or RFA's and needing new deals for next season.

I think Roloson is gone as he'll want too much money and too many years as a 37-year-old goalie next season. But with the way Markkanen played in the Finals, it's not the loss you might think.

Make Markkanen the No. 1 and elevate either Dubnyk or Drouin-Deslauriers as the backup, and I think the Oil will be solid in goal. Conklin will be released or used as trade bait, I would think.

Well for one, and a big thing, nobody's sure of how he'd perform in the playoffs since he's never been there. That's probably enough to raise a question mark for some people.
