    Thoughts on the schedule?

Well here we are, a good ways into the NHL season. What's everyone thinking about the new schedule so far?

I personally hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I'm already sick of playing the Rangers, Devils and Penguins this year and the season isn't even half over. And as a fan of the sport of hockey, I resent the fact that I don't see as much of the best players on the west coast and in other markets just because they're not "rivals" of the Flyers who play in our division. I understand what they were trying to do in highlighting the rivalries, but guess what - those matchups were already considered rivalries before Bettman had the idiotic idea that they had to play each other every other night the entire year. And in doing so, he's actually made the rivalry games less special instead of more so.

So yeah, this schedule sucks. Given how incredibly bad the Flyers are, my one joy in going to the games is being able to see the other skill players around the league come into our building and show off their skills. And now there are players in the league that I flat out don't see as much as I used to (or at all) because we're playing the Rangers, Devils and Penguins every damn night.

    Thanks a lot, Gary.
    Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

      My thoughts?

4 words: Bettman Should Be Fired.

Hey why watch the Penguins when we can watch the Wild a million times. What creates passion is teams meeting up in the playoffs, not in the regular season.

The GM meetings happened last week and Bettman actually wanted to change the playoff schedule. He didn't want to re-seed after each round. Good thing almost all the GM's told him it would be a bad idea.

I can't wait for the day Gary Bettman has nothing to do with the NHL.

I have to agree with you. The schedule makes no sense. Being on the West Coast you can't even follow the East Coast teams at all if you don't have to Hockey ticket or package. They show games on versus on Monday's and Tuesdays but they start at around 4 west coast time so people like me who get home later can't even watch the games. Why can't the NHL have a similar schedule the NBA does? I'm all for a home and home schedule vs all the east coast teams.

I do love having Center Ice, but I can see why it is a problem for those who don't! I agree I would love to see more East coast teams. Man if we could play more East Coast teams and less of our own Division I would like that.
