Stopping the cross ice tap in.
Probably 60% of the goals I give up come on cross ice (sometimes across the crease) passes that a unmolested winger taps in. Besides strong physical play by the offside defenseman, what other specific strategy's work against this play? Right now, I am in a Zone defense. Any solutions?Tags: None -

Box+1 Defense, and instead of pokechecking defenders all the time, stay in position and try to pokecheck the pass. -

If you go thru the trouble of editing all the goalies, All Star level rewards you with killer realistic gameplay and scoring. It seems like much at first, but it doesn't really take that long.
Still having problems scoring? Push up the Shot Accuracy Slider. This helps twice as much if your Shot Aim is set to Auto. Problem is that you won't miss the net altogether as much and your Shot On Goal stats may climb a bit.Comment

Re: Stopping the cross ice tap in.
The entire game becomes too easy once you figure out the trick to scoring. Anyone who has played on xbox live has seen it at least once so I won't ruin it because I wish I'd never learned it. My record on All-star for my franchise is like 56-9-4-1 and it's all because I figured out the trick to scoring WAY too early.... and it certainly isn't the one timer. Also... the wrap-around still works... occasionally... took me back to my NHL 94 days.Comment
