Because I have never seen a commercial for the game, wouldn't the All-Star game have been a perfect venue to showcase the game?

but now that you mention it carl....your right on the mark
are they hurting for ad money??
did nhl2003 have any either i didnt even notice?
im sure next week we will see a LANDSLIDE of NBA2K3 & NBA LIVE......even NBA SHOOTOUT commercials

When it comes to marketing and publicizing a game EA has Sega beat hands down. This is the one area that Sega needs to address if they are going to take over the sports games crown. Sega already has gameplay and presentation down, now they need to start hyping there games so people go out and buy them.Comment

Sega has gameplay down, but they need to work on the graphics, sound, and atmosphere a lot. They don't have money to advertise this game, they spent so much advertising NBA/NFL and they didn't sell anywhere near projections. They're gonna need help, aka word of mouth.Comment

I guess this is all subjective, but like the previous poster, I think they(Sega) have gameplay, graphics, and the like(Sound, presentation, ect) down pat. Their focus should be on getting the best marketing(Commercials, Print Ads, ect) available for their products. EA does this very well, and they(Sega) would do good to follow EA's path.
Remember the commercial for Triple Play last year? The commercial was so good until I almost forgot how bad the game was, not that's good marketing
