Really? I figured that would be Crosby. You've gotta start young to do that, and Crosby started at 18. I've heard a lot about this Duchene kid, sounds like he's the real deal.

I love the NHL's new generation. It seems players of the 90's and early 2000's are being phased out, and the best players are now guys who started in the mid 2000's. I guess that makes sense because of the age factor, but it's weird seeing a changing of the guard. This could also mean I'm getting old. Having followed the NHL since I was about 6, it's been about 15 years. Makes sense that I've seen a player's career begin and now come to an end.

It is Crosby. Duchene turned 20 on Jan. 16. Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman, Hawerchuk all reached 100 points before turning 20. I think Jimmy Carson as well, but I'd have to look that up.

Tell me about it. I started following the NHL in 1981. There are only 2 players (Recchi and Modano) left from that decade.

We are just outside looking in, I would love for us to make a move on Vokoun. We have a lot of cap space and I still don't think Anderson is 100% healthy. Also I just can't watch Peter Budaj and his 3+ goals allowed per game in net.

Yea, that was my bad, I misunderstood the announcers (or wasn't paying enough attention.)

He was just the youngest in franchise history...

David Jones out for long time again. Dude has talent but never stays on the ice for a long period of time.

I always feel so dirty after a shootout win, but 2 points is 2 points.

Just seen the highlights for that game and came to post that.

                      DiPietro got ****ing dropped.

Peter Mueller skated for first time since September today. Reason for optimism.

That was such a weak goalie fight.

Speaking of goalies, former MN-Duluth Bulldog Alex Stalock made his debut Wednesday for the Sharks, replacing Niemi when it was 3-0 and saving all 9 shots he faced as San Jose came back to win 5-3.

He was the best goalie I've seen at UMD and it's nice to see him finally get a call-up after playing very well for the past 2 seasons in the AHL.

Heh, I like when goalies square off as much as the next guy, but with DiPietro's concussion history, it doesn't surprise me he went down with one swing. I don't know how much credit I can give to Johnson. Fleury wouldn't have had the balls to do that, I bet.

I try not to be bias as a Flyers fans when talking about Pens stuff, but damn it, I can't stand Fleury! I think he's a pansy. Flower is right...

Anyway, I applauded DiPietro for getting in the way of Cooke, though. The way he has put Savard's career, and life, in jeopardy is sickening to me. I could probably forgive if the NHL had punished him severely, but since they did not, he will forever be on my bad side, no matter his team. If he ever comes to the Flyers, I'll feel the same way.

Hey, hey, hey. I'm about as fair a Flyers fan as there is. I think Fiddy can attest to that. I always try to put my personal feelings aside.

I don't think the goalie fight was as big a deal as everyone has made it out to be. "One hitter quitter!" Hardly. And I have nothing against Johnson. In fact, I like when he appears... it means the Fleury has been lit up!

Flyers have certainly had their share of a-holes. Boulerice's cheap shot and Downie's head hunt come to mind immediately. Even Richards, who I believe is an excellent captain and one of the best centers toes the line and crosses it, at times. And of course the Bullies always pulled a bunch of BS, but that was a completely different era.

But I always try to be fair in my opinions. I don't want someone to see the Flyers logo and dismiss what I have to say, no matter how clearheaded it is. That's just as bad as what they would be accusing me of (homerism). Not saying you did, but just wanted to let you know, I'm not just another blind Flyers fan.
