I'm not a fan of Jack Johnson, he's great on the PP but even strength he's just meh. At times he's just horrible on defense, other times average IMO.

CBJ needs to get Bernier in the deal no matter what though.

Nash being available really shakes up the trade deadline.
Scott Burnside and Pierre LeBrun discuss whether or not the Blue Jackets will trade Rick Nash and which teams would be interested.LeBrun: Greetings from the home base in Toronto, my friend.

Nash has been in the league for about 9 season but he's still only 27 years old. I think he really wanted to win in Columbus but has lost faith in the organization.

The BJ's need help everywhere but they should try to get a goaltender as part of the package. I see 3 young backup goalies that deserve to start (Schneider, Rask, Bernier).

A David Booth/Cody Hodgson/Cory Schneider for Rick Nash deal works under the cap.

I think it's the other way around.

I know some Canadians can't believe this, but Nash has been an utter failure as leader and franchise player. He isn't that guy. A great goal scorer, no doubt, and a decent defensive player, but not a franchise/leader guy. I think management finally realized this and have decided to trade him while they can. Here is to hoping they get a legit goaltender and defenseman for he and Carter.

Bruins look terrible tonight. Rangers completely outplaying them in every aspect of this game.

Do not be surprised if Timmy gets moved. The Bruins need to decide if Rask is the future and if so, give him the keys. Sure, Thomas showed he can steal you a cup, but they need pieces to complement Lucic. I never thought Horton was that guy, but with him concussed and out indefinitely...would love to see a st louis type to go with Lucic on the other wing (st louis may be the same side as Looch, i just mean a sniper/speedster type).

I thought Boychuk might get moved, but I doubt they gave him 3x3.5m to make him trade bait.

That will never happen, and you put the reasoning in your post. He can get you a cup, so why trade him? It's obvious Timmy has couple years in him and Rask can wait until his turn.

If you need a winger, you trade future pieces for now imo if you're team like Boston. Seguin is obviously off-limits, but probably Dougie Hamilton?

Looks like Detroit is winning 21 straight.

Record. 21 Straight barring some crazy collapse by the Wings.

Would be scary if this team picks up Parise, Nash or Suter before the deadline but doubt KH will do anything because he doesn't like giving up picks/prospects.

EDIT: Tough for Joey having his shutout ended in garbage time.

I know Nash is having a down year but the BJ's have never surrounded him with enough talent to win. It's hard to make chicken salad out of chicken ****. The thing that sucks for the fans is that you know the moment he gets traded to a good team, he's going to be in beast mode.

Even with Brurish breaking the shutout with 30 seconds left, Wings looked good tonight. 21 straight home wins for Detroit.

As far as a deadline move, I doubt Holland will do anything unless something too good to pass up comes up or an injury. The offseason will be a different story though...

Ugh. Can't afford to be losing to teams like the Islanders if the Jets plan on making a playoff push.

                              Frustrating loss.

Barring another Cup run this June, it wouldn't shock me if Thomas is traded during the offseason (or midway through next season) to a West contender with an opening in goal (ie, Chicago). Zero chance of Boston moving him within the next 2 weeks, though.
