Yeah, it's funny. Anybody who has watched hockey, or sports in general, knows a season is a long marathon, not a short sprint. Bryz certainly looked flat out bad at times, but you can't judge a guy on a bad stretch of games. He's a proven goalie in this league, even if it was in Phoenix, and now it's showing. His numbers will flatten out when it's all said and done and they'll look fine.
I knew one of our goalies would figure it out by the time the playoffs rolled around. My primary concern is going into the playoffs playing good hockey and carrying that over.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
Once an athlete "comes into the fold", it's like a child into the family. Think of it this way: it's the family that loves having others at the house. You play with us, you dine with us, you joke and laugh with us. But if we know you are not living up to your expectations, we will come down on you, scold you, boo you, ridicule you.... in an effort to show our disapproval and then, hopefully, impact you to live up to your potential.
Do you see the same responses and reactions to Bobrovsky? No, because he's young and the expectations stayed low, especially after he wasn't developed properly.
The other thing you have to realize about the Philly fanbase is that when we boo the player, we're not necessarily just booing the player..... we may be booing the management responsible for making a potentially bad decision for bringing that player into the fold.Comment

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
It was a decent hit, but nothing more than anything we see on a nightly basis. Not to mention Myers is a first-time offender. Dude has a reputation for being soft as tissue. Now he's getting suspended for 3 games for a hit that punks on your team or Boston (for example) don't even get suspended for?! It's a joke.
LMAO. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's McNabb. He's not bad from what I've seen. Myers hasn't done much but he was starting to play better. Surprise, surprise. The rest of the D crew gets healthy and the "best D man" plays better. How shocking.
Should be a fun game tonight. Huge one. I fear Landeskog.Comment

Avalanche/Sabres game highly entertaining. 3-3 going into the 3rd. Both teams hungry, both teams young.
Tune in.Comment
