Well DrJones, I think your dream of the North Stars jerseys ever being worn in St. Paul is dead. It's "North Stars night" and they're wearing the home reds.
They've been showing old highlights all night and there's been plenty of Lou Nanne.Comment

Indeed I face palmed. At least they took a point out of it, considering they didn't skate all that great and didn't really produce alot of offense or traffic and were down 2-0 late, I'll settle for a salvaged point.Comment

Chicago played well against the Blues and got a shootout win. They had a 3-1 lead with about 11 minutes left in the game and ended up giving up 2 goals to force OT. Crawford gave up a bad 2nd goal by St. Louis to get them right back in the game. Halak was awesome and I always get a little jealous watching good goaltending. Unfortunately Phoenix won so Chicago hasn't clinched a playoff spot yet.
The Kruger-Sharp-Stalberg line has been great the last few games. Stalberg was everywhere last night. Also, Chicago's 23-2 when Brunette tallies a point. I have no idea why that happens.
Here are some quotes from the game:
Hitchcock: "We were outplayed badly, I don’t even know how we got a point to be honest with you."
"This is two games in a row in this building where we haven’t really competed for 60 ""You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
Looks like the BOS goalie bit on it, then tried to reposition but got his skates tangled up or caught an edge or something. Still, made him look foolish.
Flyers put up 7 on the Leafs.
The big story is all the rookies we've been playing, and how they're producing. And going into the playoffs, there's going to be talk of these guys not having playoff experience. Frankly, I think during the regular season, the young guys having fresh legs has been a positive. Hungry dudes looking to make an impact. I've been particularly impressed with Eric Wellwood. In limited action, 5 goals/2 assists in 19 games and a +5.. but just watching him on the ice, he seems like he knows what it takes and where to be. I think he could be one of those guys that has a big postseason, not known or counted on during the first 82 but when the going gets tough in the playoffs, he's there to take the punishment and give our team a boost.
Anyway, about the young dudes. I think our roster is a bit overpopulated with them, but we also have a plethora of experienced guys, whether that's with our team through the last few years or that we've picked up like Talbot, Kubina, and even Simmonds with the style he brings. This game is tilting towards a younger generation of players (though the oldies still get their due, like Recchi with the B's last season). I believe we've got enough of all the right elements to be able to legitimately challenge for the Cup.
More and more, PIT looks like the match-up. I'm embracing that likely scenario more and more. The Penguins are a hell of a team, and so are we. Whoever makes it out of that deathmatch, I like them to represent the East with a shoutout to NYR (#1) and BOS (defending champs).NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

LOL it looked like the goalie got shot.
Because Detroit laid an egg in Columbus two nights ago, this game against Nashville is huge. Either win out for a 4 seed, or lose out for the 6 seed.Comment

I am hoping the Kings don't play to the competition like they have all season long. Their remaining schedule is Edmonton twice, minnesota once, and San Jose twice.
All season the Kings tend to play down to the lesser teams, but this could just be a byproduct of having very little offense for 90 percent of the year. I have a feeling if Quick isn't amazing these 5 games the Kings could miss out on the playoffs.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights
