I may be biased but the Fraser hit was shoulder on shoulder. He didn't target the head. If anything the refs should have given him a 2 minute interference penalty.

The Clifford hit was just unfortunate for Couture. Clifford barely nudged him, it just so happened that he was losing his balance before the nudge causing him to go awkwardly into the boards. Clifford didn't use force to throw him into the boards and Couture was even out there on the 5 minute PP resulting from the hit.

Darius Kasparaitus once literally threw the puck into the crowd in game 7 of the 2001 ECSF between the Sabres and Penguins, which went uncalled by the refs

IIRC, Kasparaitis went on to score the series-winning goal in OT.

Yep, and then swan dove through the neutral zone. Always hated the guy. One of the dirtiest players in the 17 years i've followed the NHL.

The best time of year is about to start...

I'm glad the Flyers are facing the Pens are the road....although would have preferred the Flyers to play the Panthers. Craig Berube for the Lady Byng as peacemaker.

Just hope Lavy doesn't play the goalie shuffle again.

I never thought I 'd say this but I'm glad Tortorella spoke up about the star treatment Crosby and Malkin get from the refs..He probably hopes the Flyers will win so they can play the Flyers instead of the Pens.

What star treatment exactly? Everyone here seems to throw these terms around without any factual evidence. It's almost like it's the "cool thing to say. Crosby and Malkin don't get star treatment. Whenever they're on the ice, they endure twice as much as anyone else in terms of impeding their progress. It's the nature of the game. But why does no one ever bring that up? Let's be real. Defensemen aren't going to treat "average joe" players the same way they treat star players.

Also

Why do Crosby and Malkin have to be these "goody two shoes"? If these players were on your team, would you want them to be taking constant **** from everyone? Most likely not. If you don't show people you mean business sometimes, you're gonna get creamed in the NHL.

Finally

Crosby is not a whiner. He hasn't been for a few years. So please, don't call him that. It's not true. Trust me, I've watched every game this year. There's a difference between a captain talking to the ref about a penalty call and a player whining. If anything, the league should be focusing on all these coaches complaining to the media.

P.S. The Orpik hit wasn't intentional. Was it dirty? By rule, yes. But Orpik wasn't intentionally trying to give a knee-on-knee hit.

I do think the Pens are getting too much bad press lately. Crosby in particular has been getting pounded. I'm not saying he doesn't whine or what not, but the way the Flyers, Milbury, and Torts have gone after the organization is classless

what he fails to realize is that the Pens had their top 5 forwards and Letang on the ice for about a min, then the Flyers scored into an empty net.

they put out Asham, Vitale, Adams, Engellend, and Niskanen. wow, thats a tough goon line eh? LMAO..

Engellend has not played like he did last year, in terms of being a physical presence and whooping up on everyone.

Asham, a legit middle weight, yet hasn't gooned it up all year etc. he is the only player the Flyers staff could have moaned about.

then, Briere gets hit "clean" and all the Flyers jump on in etc. hilarious. it was a huge group "whine" moment for the Flyers on the ice bc 48 got caught with his head down. then the coach whines to the Pens bench, then whines to the media, as well as Briere whining to them as well.

thats a lot of whining coming from one of the dirtiest organizations in NHL history. i bet all those goons of the past were disappointing in the current Flyers.. lol maybe not, just teasing.

i guess the Flyers are all innocent and never have put out the likes of Carcillo and Shelley etc in the past.

its gonna be a tough series, fun to watch, maybe the Flyers win in 6, but its going to be tough to do with some key players out. i hope they can make it back for the start of the series, so we dont hear the Flyers staff whine about having injury problems.
