If I were playing a drinking game based around the number of times the TSN guys mention Ryan Miller not being the same since the Lucic hit, I'd be blacked out right now.

Hockey coverage in Canada is at the point now where it's so 24/7 365 that way too much beating of the dead horse goes on.

He hasn't been the same since the Olympics, forget the Lucic hit.

On the bright side, we actually won today. In regulation. At home!

IMO it should be in Detroit, not at the biggest stadium in the state. Not to mention, they won't fill it to capacity.

This is why the Leafs are involved. They better have measures in place to ensure Michiganers get first crack at the tickets, otherwise you're looking at 117,000+ Canadians in the stands. Filling the Big House to capacity will not be an issue.

I'll never understand the whole you make a big clean hit on the other teams star player and than you're expected to fight. It happened during last night's Kings/Stars game and I think it's silly. The whole visor/instigating a fight rule is also stupid.

I can't stand that ****. When this became the "thing to do" in the league, I don't know, but I really hate it.

Carcillo (torn ACL) and DiPietro (DiPietro) both out for season. Insert jokes here.

Not that I wish for players to get injured but I can't say I'm shedding any tears for Carcillo.

DiPietro, I can't even make a joke about that. It's just sad at this point.

The Islanders will be begging for some sort of amnesty clause in the new CBA. We all know 15 year contracts are stupid but even I didn't think it would be this bad.

The league should just amnesty the Islanders.

Strange but I'm hoping they go Wings v. Leafs. At least one new team introduced! Surprised it's Canadian, but really, that's the best way to draw money. Canada will eat up hockey, especially the Leafs. The US market won't care outside of Detroit and hockey fans anyway. At least throw Canadians a bone.

What a save by Howard though after the puck bounced over his stick. The Hawks not looking so good in this one so far. Still alot of hockey left though.

I think Canadians would be content with a Heritage Classic once every 2 years (as long as it didn't have to be an all-Canadian matchup each time). Brian Burke and Ron Wilson on 24/7? Lots of potential gold there. Also, I really hope NBC doesn't market a tired Canada vs USA storyline.

Ack. Mea culpa. I wasn't sure, and I usually look that stuff up.

Had no idea it was Michiganders. Not that I've spent a great deal of time in the US Midwest (maybe a week total in Chicago and St. Louis), but Vancouver gets both Seattle and Detroit ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/PBS affiliates on basic cable, so I'm surprised I hadn't heard that before.

Sean Couturier is going to be such a good player...his wrist shot is insane for a 19 year old. How he fell to us in the draft I'll never know. He should've been a top 4 pick.

I root for the Jets too and I really don't understand what they saw in Scheifele to make them think he was the better option.

So Andrew Shaw now has 4 goals in about 4 or 5 games. Here's what that looks like compared to other Hawks.

Frolik - 5 goals(2 empty netters)
Bickell - 4 goals
Kruger - 3 goals

Hawks beat the Sharks 4-3. It's always nice to beat Niemi and San Jose. 3 out 4 points against Detroit and San Jose is big.
