I think this accurately describes the Jets right now:

I realize that shoot out wins do not come often. Therefore, please remember, after a shootout win, no dancing.

For the record, I'm a Bob fan. He got a BS deal last year in the playoffs (even though I love Boucher) and I think if they just stuck with him (you know, like they did ALL last season, until the playoffs), he'd be fineeeeee. But Bryzgalov for 9 years, it almost seems like the writing is on the wall...

I'm hoping an amnesty clause is part of the next CBA so we can wash our hands of this and pretend Bryz never played here. I would rather have a retired Pronger's contract on the books until 2017 than him.

Stewart had no intention of actually playing hockey once he left the bench. I know he won't be suspended but he should be. I enjoy fighting but even I don't like this kind of stuff.
I agree. I'm a wings fan so everyone's going to assume I'm biased, but I've been saying this for years regardless if it happens for or against the Wings.

I get flamed all the time by fans saying I want a non-contact NHL and yet the players themselves seem hellbent on removing hitting from the game.
It's amazing to me to see how many clean hits result in a dust-up and yet I've seen more than my share of dirty hits that resulted in no retribution. Huh?

DrJones, your example of the Bourque suspension is a great one. I think Rene left the bench with his elbow extended and zeroed in on Backstrom.
What was his 'punishment'? A fight with Hendricks. A fight he won and a fight he was able to walk away from without missing a shift.
So pro-fighting crowd, tell me again how fighting deterred any sort of shenanigans?
It doesn't. Bourque will do the same thing again. Just like Torres, Carcillo, Hartnell, etc, etc, etc.

If the NHL is going to clean up it's act, it's not going to come at the hands of justice ala Colton Orr like dumb-dumb Brian Burke wants.
It has to come from Shanahan.
Bourque should have been given a minimum of 10 games for his premeditated act - which resulted in one of the games best players missing significant time.
Bourque learned nothing and the rest of the league learned that you can still get away with cheapshots.

I think I might have a gambling problem because I made a bunch of prop bets for tonight's NHL All-Star fantasy draft, lol.

I find the draft (lots of unintentional comedy and awkward moments that crack me up) more entertaining than the skills comp and all-star game.

There's a difference between playing a physical game and staying within the rules and cheapshots, like the Cooke's, Ott's, Rene Bourque's of the NHL. They're not one and the same.

Well that was the most embarrassing moment of the Draft. The camera op had no idea who any of the rookies were, and started at the wrong end of the line.
