Classic Jim Carey/Dan Cloutier move by Howard there. Erat jukes at an impossible angle, Howard goes sliding into the corner.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Unacceptable. And that was AFTER he got bailed out with the intent to blow on the soft *** **** he gave up before.
He's been substantially below average in this series, and will be one of the primary reasons Detroit loses. Garbage goaltending.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Turn out the lights, the party's over.
That vaunted "Red Wing Hockey" that has been spoken of in such hushed tones for years now? It's done. Every aspect of it has vanished, and this is now a mildly above average, but nowhere near elite, team. Wings fans better get a copy of the 2008 championship video and indulge in it, because there isn't going to be another one anytime soon.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
This Wings team is heartless and gutless. They do not respond to any adversity, and basically roll over at the first sign of difficulty.
Losing is one thing, but these Wings play a passionless, sterile, clinical brand of hockey that is not only not a winning strategy, it's totally uninspiring. One of two things needs to happen (or both): either a complete roster overhaul to get the guys that can fit the puck-control system Babcock wants to run, or a regime change. But what they have now is a bunch of mediocre skill guys and a below-average defense playing in a system designed for fast, high-skill-level finesse guys that is just good enough to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Time for change in Detroit.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
What I don't understand is why Kenny Holland keeps trotting out this same roster year after year, despite being unceremoniously broomed out of the post-season without so much as a fight the past 3 years, with essentially no significant changes. I mean, how many times do you need to keep doing the same thing before you realize that this dog ain't hunting? At some point, isn't obvious that the same group of guys that just lost in the 2nd round twice (and now first round this year) probably isn't the right mix of guys to get you deep into the playoffs?
All I know is, the Tigers better f*#@'n win the World Series this year, because it seems that the Wings funds are being diverted down the road to Comerica at the present...Comment
