On the Jets front, what was proposed probably was the best plan for realignment. I know I didn't mind it. There wasn't too much wrong with what they had planned, I thought.

The one thing I would like to see is us included with the other Western Canadian teams like Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton.

The proposed realignment they came up with at the last owners meetings looked great.

If I remember right, I think it was the players association who shot it down.

Yeah it was. The players didn't agree with the amount of travel and the fact that not every conference had the same amount of teams, making it easier for some to get into the playoffs.

Also digging deeper, it can be looked at as a power struggle between the league and the PA. Apparently the PA had no say in the proposed realignment plan and they didn't like that, among other things. Just one of the many reasons we should all be preparing for a work stoppage.

                Yup. More Stamkos goals, please.

But do it at the same time as you stop the other team from scoring. Gah, what a concept!

Read on TB's board that Stevie Y didn't even call LA to ask for Bernier. I wonder why. Bernier was the guy I really wanted last year for the #11 pick +, think he can be fantastic goalie.

lol, if Kane does want out Bowman needs to go all out to bring him to Chicago, just imagine the two Kane's wreaking havoc on the Chicago nightlife together!

A line of Kane - Toews - Kane would be pretty amazing as well, and as far as nicknames we could call them Ebony and Ivory Kane.

I thought they were usually a playoff contender until they abandoned the trap. They did go to the conference finals in 2003, two years after they were an expansion franchise.

Anyways, Wild fans, what do you think of each of the defensemen you have right now? I'm curious, because other than Gilbert, I don't know much about any of the other ones. What about Backstrom? Do any of you think his contract was a product of the trap?

All they would need then is Billy Kane at center to complete the tri-Kane line.

If Evander Kane is indeed "available", I'd expect Buffalo to push big time.

First of all- with the Lindback trade to TB, does that all bit confirm Luongo to the Leafs? I'm still mixed in that. Second: can anyone else see Burke getting desperate for E. Kane? I mean, not anything too heinous, like two firsts and a second for a winger that can score but not defend. Who would do something like that?

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

Jackman resigns in St. Louis and Brad Stuart signs in San Jose, both for 3 years, and for 3.1666 M and 3.6 M a year respectively. Both are great deals for the teams; they would have gotten more in FA IMO. It is going to be a thin market for defensive defensemen with them signed.

Detroit resigns Darren Helm, 4 years, 2.125 M a year cap hit. About the market value (or a tad less) for a 3rd line center.
