Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Watching Wild writer Michael Russo's non-update updates on Suter and Parise is entertaining. If feel kind of sorry for him putting so much effort into something that will probably end up sorely disappointing him.Comment

I'm hearing that either Chicago or Pittsburgh is the likely destination for Parise.
Please let him come to Chicago.
Carolina was told they're out of the running for Suter.Last edited by SidVish; 07-02-2012, 11:16 AM."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
I'm surprised that Detroit wanted Tootoo so badly. He doesn't seem like the type of player they usually recruit for their system.
I was also surprised to see Nashville resign Brian McGratten for another year. He spent virtually all of last season injured, and with Tootoo gone, McGratten is now the only tough guy on Nashville's roster, making durability even more important for him.
Alexander Radulov signed a four-year deal with his KHL team, so he's officially gone.Last edited by jyoung; 07-02-2012, 11:46 AM.Comment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
OK, I'm gonna be that guy again...Stupid Journey...they've made my life slightly inconvenient by having to occasionally point out that there is no "South Detroit"...I mean, obviously there's an area of civilization south of the city, but it's colloquially referred to as "downriver". But then, "Just a city boy, born-and-raised in Downriiiiiivvvveeerrrrrr" doesn't have quite the same lyrical ring...
I think Detroit is trying to go outside the formula a bit, and I'm okay with that. At some point, you have to have someone that is going to punch the other team in the face (literally) or else you'll just get run over every May. I'm not saying there's a direct line between Zetterberg getting George "The Animal" Steele'd by Shea Weber and the Tootoo signing, but it's been an unmentioned-in-public issue for some time now....Comment

Unless it's a team's official feed. According to Bob McCowan, there's an announcement at 5.... I'm skeptical."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
