    McCabe on this upcoming lockout.

    NHL Players

He's a prime example of a greedy hockey player and as well are the other players.

Bryan McCabe is all BS. "Protect the younger players" please, he's only caring about the $3.85 mil a year. It's people like him that got this league in such poor condition, I hope people like him do leave and go and play in Europe and they'll see the money is not the same, screw them then.

What's the deal with the new WHA, is this actually going to be an attractive new pro league?

Man, I cannot believe the ignorance of some of the players, along with those GM's who believe there is nothing wrong with the NHL. Are these guys even living on the same planet as we are? Brett Hull said it best in an interview in 1998 when he said the game sucks, and the people to talk to are the ones who make the decisions. Well, here we are six years later, and the NHL hasn't improved a bit. Clutch, grab, hook, dive, punch in the face, hitting from behind, and officiating that makes the CFL officiating look good are what we've seen over the last five years.

Now all of a sudden, Bertuzzi is a traditionalist who doesn't want to see a lot of changes, and likes the game the way it is. News flash Todd Bertuzzi: MOST OF US HATE THE WAY THE GAME IS! WAKE UP!!! Of course, what do you care when you're making millions of dollars a year, and get paid whether you do a good or subpar job?

What should be done includes some of the following: reducing goalie equipment, eliminating the red line, no-touch icing, banning the "compos**t" sticks, automatic ejection for hitting from behind under any cirumstances, one-referee system, giving power to the linesman to call penalties, having a monitor down below so that the referee can make a decision on video review rather than some bozo who makes $50/game and has no idea what he/she is doing, etc. The main ones being eliminating the red line, and no-touch icing.

All pro-sports change with the times. Even the NBA adopted to the "3 in the key rule" and Zone Ds because players like Shaq were taking advantage of the rules that were present at the time. With the new rules, Shaq can't hog the front of the hoop forever. With the red-line present, teams like New Jersey and Minnesota play the most electrifying game fans love to watch, and pay their hard earned money to see. A 2-1 lead going into the third period, and they clutch and grab, plug up the neutral zone and wait for the time to run out. That's not hockey, it's a punk move, and it's being a b**ch in my opinion. Here's to the NHL going on strike or lockout (whatever) and I hope for the sports it's a long one if thats what it takes to fox this game.

None of these guys have my sympathy. Players are way overpaid, owners are way overstupid for paying them what they do, and GM's are clueless decision makers. Good riddens to a sub par game that is on the decline.

rant or not, its the truth. I dont see many fans in this lockout if it happens siding with the players. I dont know why they are refusing the idea of a cap?
