"Available" is relative, though. Gaborik, Iginla, Morrow, Jagr: those guys aren't likely to waive their NTCs to play in Canada, it's just a fact of life. And remember, the Canucks offered Doan more money and years than Phoenix did.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Jarkko Ruutu mentions are rampant in the 2013 Playoffs Thread. I think he's going to be looking for royalties soon.Comment

Random aside: since that aforementioned Burrows OT goal vs Boston, the Canucks have gone 2-11 in the postseason and have been outscored 44-17 in the process.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Makes the Wings' playoff streak all the more impressive, huh? It's actually worse than that, since the one guy who was playing decently, DeKeyser, is now out for the season - which is about 3 more days now...
Doc, you want to take it from here, or cut/paste your "blow it up" diatribes from years past?....

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I've already said quite a bit. I certainly won't object if Vigneault and/or Gillis get the can, though I wonder if any of the potential replacements will be better, or just different?
As far as blowing up the roster (something that will be discussed endlessly around Vancouver over the summer), it's gratifying to rant about, but how would it actually be accomplished? The only team I can think of in the cap era who tried this was the Flyers, and it turned out great... for the Kings. If someone has realistic ideas about who the Canucks should move, to whom, and for what, I'm all ears.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I don't think they need to blow it up. They just need a re-tooling, so to speak.
I'm already assuming Vigneault is getting the ax if/when San Jose wins the series. From there they need to finally solve the goalie situation because obviously this can't go on for another year.
Aside from those two moves I think they'd be best off just trying to add to what's there rather than cleaning house.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
It has been very entertaining browsing through the Canucks chat rooms during this series. I usually browse through the opposing team's message boards every year, just to see what their fans are saying.
As expected, there are many complaints about the officiating. I am fine with that, as I complain too, but many fans are implying that this 3-0 deficit is all because of the officiating. Even when I complain about calls, I never pin a series on one or even a few bad calls. If you go down 3-0, there is probably more to it than the referees.

I agree. I mean, when Shanny can use that footage as part of his former video "what not to do" series, it's probably a 2-gamer minimum. It just sucks because he's been one of the bright spots on the team this series, and the next time he gets on the ice will probably be during football season.
The Wings are pretty much running out of able bodies...I think I might actually be the next guy on the depth chart if someone else goes down tonight....Comment

That was a poor choice of words on my part...he was penalized (2 minutes for elbowing, and Conacher got a retaliation penalty with it), but I meant that he didn't get fined or suspended for it.Comment

No question the Leafs are playing their hearts out. Credit to Boston for matching the intensity. Good sequence of playoff hockey in this first ten minutes.Comment

Mike Green tied it up. Very nice.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early.
