LOL one of the bullet points on a recap from tonight's game on a Wings blog I read has me cracking up:

The Wings tried to capitalize on their first power play by firing so many pucks over the net that the glass would break and fall on top of Hiller and kill him thus leaving an open net for a goal but this strategy did not prove fruitful.

Red Wings could have had Ryan O'Byrne for just a 4th round pick, their fault for missing on him. He's really valuable for Toronto now.

At this point,Leafs and Wings 4th round picks would likely be equal(depending on if any of these two teams make it to next round or not),so Avs trading him out of the conference is something I'm sure they'd rather have done(which is why they did)

Speaking of Leafs dmen...this playoff series is especially proving how badly Leafs need Dmen who can stop opponents from getting shots(don't mean better shot blocking(since Leafs leading league in that category) but they better get better puck control! The amount of turnovers is ridiculous, especially when most seem to be around our end of the ice).

Reimer has faced 16 more shots than the 2nd highest total(and he's played a game LESS!) if Reimer faced a regular amount of shots per game in this playoffs, series would easily have been 3-2 Leafs, cause he's stopping the % of pucks he needs to be stopping, it's just that the amount he faces is way more than average goalie. A guy with SV% of almost .930 having a GAA almost in the 3s!?! That shouldn't be happening at all.

Tarasenko might be that guy in couple years, but Blues really need that big scoring forward if they want to go far.

Poor St. Louis. They're a really talented team, well coached, good defense, good goaltending, could easily get through to the WCF and wouldn't surprise anybody by winning the West....but they're just outmatched against LA. Against pretty much any other team in the West (sans Chicago), they'd advance.

He's also the only reason it wasn't a sweep the other way too. Without the way Quick played the Kings don't win this series and most likely lose in 4 or 5 games.

I'm just happy to get St. Louis out of the way now. They are a hell of a team and smothering defensively with their offensive zone pressure. What a tense and hard fought series by both teams.
