Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Since predicting the NHL playoffs is nothing but rank guesswork these days (Money99 nods grimly), I'm making my picks based solely on the following:
1. Is an Original Six team playing a non-O6 team?
2. If yes, pick the O6 team.
3. If no, pick the team I don't want to see win.
Blackhawks over Wild in 5
Red Wings over Ducks in 6
Sharks over Canucks in 7
Blues over Kings in 5
Penguins over Islanders in 6
Canadiens over Senators in 7
Rangers over Capitals in 7
Bruins over Maple Leafs in 5
I have a suspicion the Rangers are going to beat Boston (and reach the SCF, actually), but following the system...
Blackhawks over Red Wings in 4
Kings over Sharks in 6
Penguins over Senators in 7
Bruins over Rangers in 7Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. After the events of the first round, I am throwing my full support behind Ottawa.Comment

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I'm cheering for Ottawa as well (er only a tiny bit i'm supposed to hate them) because they're the team that defies all the odds.
Anyways I knew the Leafs loss was a choke but it's one for the ages as Boston was the first team in playoff history to come back from 3 goals down in the 3rd period of a game 7.

Can't stand Ottawa.
Hoping for a Detroit/New York Finals. Anybody but Boston or Ottawa, actually.Comment

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Don't feel bad...I just NOW found out what happened. I gave up on that game and went for a run...figured it was a done deal. I'm speechless.
Sooo.....with that out of the way, let's see how we did on the ol' predictions:
EAST
MTL over OTT in 6 (d'oh!!!)
TOR over BOS in 7 (winner, winner, chicken din- oh, wait...nevermind)
PITT over NYI in 5 (close enough)
WSH over NYR in 7 (partial credit for right # of games?)
WEST
LA over STL in 6 (heeeeyyyyy (in best Fonzie voice))
VAN over SJ in 7 (less said here the better)
CHI over MIN in 5 (getting warm...)
DET over ANA in 7 (BINGO!!!!)
New guesses for conference semis:
WEST:
CHI over DET in 6
SJ over LA in 7
EAST:
PITT over OTT in 6
NYR over BOS in 7Comment

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I got six winners right out of eight series. Not bad I guess.
EDIT: Oh, two series lengths correct. Cool.
Chicago over Detroit in 6
Los Angeles over San Jose in 6
Pittsburgh over Ottawa in 6
New York over Boston in 7Last edited by TheMatrix31; 05-13-2013, 10:55 PM.Comment

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
amazing.
alot of bandwagon fans left early.
I of course stayed until the win.
most amazing part of that comeback was the Bruins playing with 5 D the whole game. Chara and 4 stiffs.
Chara basically played defense for the Bruins himself.
He must need an IV today.Comment
