Well that has nothing to do with Cole losing his marbles, he's been pronouncing it like that for as long as I've been watching hockey, lol.

But yeesh....CBC is really dropping the ball. Cole is bad enough, but the audio at the JLA was awful tonight. Could barely hear the goal horn when the Wings scored, and the crowd sounded MUCH quieter than I know they were.

Yeah, CBC's been coasting on nostalgia and intro montages for a while now. I'd rather puncture my eardrums than be forced to listen to the clown circus of Glenn Healy, PJ Stock, and Kevin Weekes. Ghastly.

Hopefully Yzerman has that clip of Seabrook handy when he's putting together Canada's D for Sochi.

Might have an argument for a no call on the hit on Franzen. I don't think it was blatant, I'd have to watch it a couple more times, but it kinda looked like he got at him from the side.
I'll be honest and admit I have no clue if that is a penalty these days or not. It looked to me like he came at him from the side until Franzen turned at the last moment. I've seen it called both ways though so not sure which is correct or if it's strictly a judgement call by the refs.

Puck seemed to be bouncing the Wings' way last night, and that waved-off goal was huge...I don't really think the goal should have been disallowed, but for clarification purposes, my understanding was that even if the attacking player doesn't touch the goaltender, if he skates into the crease voluntarily and makes no effort to get back out (while not being obstructed), that can be goaltender interference as well. Happy to be corrected on that for clarification purposes.

Re: The Official 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

                  The official rule:
69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper - This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgment of the Referee(s), and not by means of video replay or review.
For purposes of this rule, “contact,” whether incidental or otherwise, shall mean any contact that is made between or among a goalkeeper and attacking player(s), whether by means of a stick or any part of the body.
The overriding rationale of this rule is that a goalkeeper should have the ability to move freely within his goal crease without being hindered by the actions of an attacking player. If an attacking player enters the goal crease and, by his actions, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.
I don't really agree with it, but I guess the goal after the Franzen no-call hit kinda cancels out

Bruins 4th line has been difference maker in this series.
