Great comeback win. The game was way too wide open. Must fix that defense. My YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/gosjsharks14Comment

Another Flames come from behind win. I love how hockey media go all analytics on them and say they're terrible stat wise. I'm not expecting them to win the cup and do see them slipping. Having said that they should recognize that a good work ethic and hard work also helps teams win. Have they been lucky? Absolutely but they also play hard and are relentless.Comment

And that should be fine. I'm of a mind that fans like yourself shouldn't take this as a slight and just enjoy the ride. One of the things that bugs me about the internet/social media era is the way far too many sports fans (not including you here) overvalue media acknowledgement of their team's successes. The Flames are winning and fun to watch (and more importantly, aren't the Oilers). That should be enough for the average Calgary fan. You shouldn't have to worry about Fenwick and the like.
However, others should. Problems arise when team management act like fans, don't acknowledge the underlying stats and overrate/underrate their personnel. If the Flames fall back to Earth, and Burke/Treliving/Hartley start talking incessantly about compete/character/grit/chemistry (implying that Calgary will remain a top-10 team as long as they continue to work hard), then it's time for you to worry. This is the trap that the Leafs fall into over and over and over again.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Teams have rode high shooting percentages, great goaltending, clutch and survived poor corsi/fenwick to playoff spots before, but the odds are they will regress at some point. Regardless of what Calgary does this year, they clearly have the right FO (Hartley being much more than the placeholder I thought he would be) in place and have a bright future. As gratifying it is to predict the downfall of another team, it is much more enjoyable to watch the Flames being further ahead of the Oilers in the rebuild curve despite only being bad half as long.
Also Perceptor, it is bad luck to taunt the corsi gods. The Leafs did it last season, and the Avs did it this offseason. They are almost as maleficent as AIRBHG is.Comment

Jeez, TB obviously has better numbers compared to FLA, but where does Tampa rank in comparison to the rest of the league? Anyone know?Comment

Interesting, shows winning goes a long way, I also view Tampa as a more established franchise though, Cup run 04, etcComment

Awesome deal for snowbirds in South Florida who are NHL fans. You could probably walk to the arena with a Hamilton and get 2 people into the game, then go sit lower bowl, center ice!University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey
