I know as fans we complain about this, but I'm not really sure what the players generally think about these situations? I would imagine that the most strenuous situation would be as a goalie that you'd play the 1st game, and then be forced to enter the 2nd game to take over for your injured back-up.

Doesn't that statistic suggest that the coach isn't the problem here?Comment

Apparently Voynov did quite the number on his wife. She didn't want him charged after all this? Yikes.

And it's highly unlikely that's the first time. Guys don't wake up one day and have an extended beating of their wife because they got in an argument with her after they had a couple too many.Comment

I'm particularly fond of this absurd 7-game stretch coming up for the Canucks:
Feb. 7 PIT
Feb. 9 @MIN
Feb. 11 @CHI
Feb. 13 BOS
Feb. 14 @CGY
Feb. 16 MIN
Feb. 19 @NYR
Ever looked at a map of North America, schedule makers? Go home, you're drunk.

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
So after which one of the three chokings he's alleged to have committed upon his wife did it flash across his mind that what he's doing is completely insane?
Yikes is right. I slam a door in anger and feel like a jerk.
Waiting for pictures to be revealed so everyone and their mother can jump back on the domestic violence train. Nothing riles up people like pictures or videos.
The real shame is on the Kings for "sneaking" Voynov back into practice. I don't know how that went about but good on someone for blowing the whistle on that. All of us sports fans are a bit iffy when allegations are brought against athletes because there's so much to lose for them and so much to gain for a BS'er, but let it play out before making your judgment either way. I don't care how not guilty or how good a guy he is, behind closed doors we don't know anyone else. Whoever allowed him into practice should be fired straight up. That's bull****.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Still surprised the Oilers haven't separated RNH/Hall/Eberle.
I would trade Hall to be honest. All he does is cherry pick in his own zone and constantly turns the puck over in the opposing zone. He also has the most value and I doubt anyone would trade good pieces for Eberle and his contract.
Stat of the day:
Since Nov. 9, Oilers have had more press conferences (2) than wins (1).
That said, Avs and Oilers have the same amount of ROW this yearIt's hard to outtank the Avs in an odd draft year.

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Dunno. Pre-cap, I might agree. But Hall's 23 and finished in the top 10 in league scoring the last two seasons; is it even possible for the Oilers to get a good enough return to justify getting rid of him? I'd gas Lowe, MacT, and the entire scouting staff, then evaluate in the offseason. If someone approaches me with a great offer for Hall, all the better, but there's no way I'd trust the same incompetent management who got the Oilers into this mess pinning their hopes on, "Hey, this guy's a cancer, completely uncoachable, and we're desperate. Wanna make a deal?"Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that.
