Draft lotteries are one of the worst inventions in pro sports.

All the rookies should just be unrestricted free agents like any other player without a contract.

Revolting. I think I'm done. Never been so close to just throwing in the towel. I don't want to be associated with these *******s in the least.
The sad/ironic part about all this, Coyotes are the ones who'll be winning the draft lottery.

Ya...all should be UFA. So the NBA rookies can all go to LA,New York and stuff. And NHL rookies all go to Toronto....actually,that might be a good idea lol.

Really though, something needs to be done about draft lottery in NHL and NBA. Not saying every team should have same odds of winning, but also need to prevent tanking or single year tanks and stuff.

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread

Blatant losing on purpose = Your #1 pick in the draft in that year and the year after revoked. I don't care if there's zero "proof" (like, a memo from Murray to Nolan or something) because you'd have to be an absolute idiot to not think the Sabres, Oilers, Coyotes, Sixers, Knicks, Lakers, etc aren't losing on purpose.

Lots of other teams I've kept an eye on, especially this year when I've been watching other teams since my own is insufferable. I have had a bit of a soft spot for the Rangers, Red Wings, Wild for years due to various reasons even before I was a full-time hockey fan, and this year I love how the Flames have constantly fought and come back from deficits and all that.

I'd feel pathetic just "jumping ship" but honestly I just can't stand it. What the Sabres and Sabres fans are doing right now is completely antithetical to everything I stand for as a sports fan and person. So does "jumping ship." I feel like I wouldn't even be able to enjoy it if McDavid or Eichel came in and tore it up and led the Sabres to a Stanley Cup. How could I given the fact that I know what happened? That's sickening to me.

Oh well, enough of my drama. Florida won tonight, Ottawa lost tonight, and the Bruins got one point in OT. Julien has to be fired, right?

Nope. Lottery's only for the #1 pick, so the 30th place team is guaranteed one of McDavid or Eichel, thus the Sabres' blatant tanking this year. NHL is moving to an NBA-style draft next season (top 3 picks are determined by lottery).

What a massive blunder that was. Stars are having a bit of a bad luck year but man, Seguin is ridiculous. Even with missing that time.

I'm fine with tanking, but fans should not go to games to cheer against their team. It's just an embarrassment. Would rather see the stadium empty.

Peter Chiarelli? Oh, his *** is as good as gone. Forget Seguin for a minute, but his insistence on signing mediocre players to extensions is infuriating. Now back to Seguin, you can thank Claud for that one. Claud refuses to adapt to the times, which left Seguin expandable because he didn't fit the system.

This Bruins team has led me to openly rooting for them to lose. Last thing this group of underachievers deserve is backing themselves into the playoffs. And the B's have a 2% chance or something at the #1 lottery pick. Better than thier chances at a Cup.

Columbus is well out of everything but they got a hat trick from punk *** Scott Hartnell the other night and Cam Atkinson tonight. Against really good teams. Weird.
