Far from list of priorities, but I'm guessing we might not even see Seattle enter in 2021-22? Who knows how long it would take to finish the arena.

Depends on if construction stopped. I'm in LA and they are still working on the Rams/Chargers stadium even during the pandemic.

Firebirds name is happening...for their AHL affiliate.

No news on what the NHL name will be yet.

Bezos reasoning for Climate Pledge Arena over Amazon Arena is because he wants

a regular reminder of the urgent need for climate action. It will be the first net zero carbon certified arena in the world, generate zero waste from operations and events, and use reclaimed rainwater in the ice system to create the greenest ice in the NHL.

Bezos doesn't own the team or anything, but I wonder if they'll end up going with one the names like a fish (Sockeyes), tree (Evergreens) or Emerald.

Arena name is about climate change, maybe team name represents nature/greenness.

Based on the video, seems like an ocean theme to it. Could be a name like sockeyes, or kraken?! Teal and red seems to be the colour scheme. Sockeyes would be my guess from the colour scheme and fishing boat.

I hope that a.) it's Sockeyes, and b.) they use Native American art for the logo that is so well-received, it'll embarrass the Canucks into finally dumping the orca and embracing their dopey jersey history: a green-and-blue version of the Flying Skate (black alternates).

Could've been better, could've been worse, but it's not bad. Definitely a unique look for an NHL team which is always nice.

I just noticed the alternate logo is an anchor with the space needle in it, now that's cool.

I'm not a huge fan of the Kraken name, but I imagine it'll grow on me. I dig the color scheme; there's nothing quite like it off the top of my head. Same with the logo.

Heh, VAN and WPG both use dark/light blue with hints of red... but I don’t even care. That color plays.

I see they kind of went with what the Seahawks do with their lime green accent (except color rush... ugh). The eye of the Kraken and just a stripe on the sleeves.
