I think he did understand and didn’t give a ****, he wanted to win this game outright whether it meant we made the playoffs or not. Fits with his ethos and what he’s been preaching for weeks to a club that’s scuffled when the games were the biggest. I really don’t think he cares what happened to other teams or how it looks.

Re: The Official 2023-24 Season Talk Thread
Noteworthy: The Caps finished 27th (!!) in goal differential. At -37, they're the worst team to make the playoffs since the 90/91 Canucks (I vividly remember their turtle derby with Winnipeg, LOL). This was the last season of the 21-team NHL - when only 5 teams missed the playoffs.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Nevermind stupid Philly, I'll never be convinced Boston didn't throw their game against Ottawa tonight just to have the chance to face the Leafs.

My predictions for tomorrow:
1. Caps/Flyers are tied late in regulation
2. Torts does what Minnesota should've done previously: pull the goalie in a tied game before OT
3. Caps make the playoffs by scoring the game winner into the empty net
4. Pens and Wings fans are hella mad
wow lol
I was annoyed when I saw Caps scored empty net in a tied game, but I understood that's what had to be done
calling it, though, nice!
when Detroit scored with 3 seconds left I was going nuts lol
edit: I doubt they were scoreboard watching, that was too close, Philly was in 2 points in regulation or gtfo modeLast edited by l3ulvl; 04-17-2024, 01:59 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

A real bummer for a neutral like me. Rangers/Caps has a strong potential to be yawn-inducing, and the Rangers and Wings haven't met in the postseason for 70 years!!!Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2023-24 Season Talk Thread
That was a pretty cool wild & wooly penultimate night of the regular season. Obviously I wish it would have turned out differently, but scoring with 3 seconds left to keep your playoff hopes alive (however briefly) was about as excited as I've gotten about a regular season hockey game in decades.
It was nice to be stressing with the Wings again after what seems like forever, although you have to wonder what would've happened if they just could've won one more game somewhere over the past 2 months' worth of swan dives. Stevie Y is on the hot seat next year as far as I'm concerned.
Rangers-Wings not happening probably saves me a ton of money, though, because there's no way I don't go to at least 1-2 of those games.Comment

Re: The Official 2023-24 Season Talk Thread
Kings were poised to face the Oilers in the 1st round for the 3rd straight year, then they allowed 3 straight goals in a span of 5 minutes. IMO I would rather face the Oilers than the Stars but what do I know.
Stars/Knights/Avs/Jets in one bracket, 3 garbage goalies and a Vezina winner.Last edited by Kobalt; 04-19-2024, 01:01 AM.Comment

21/22 Kings vs Oilers:
Oilers finished 2nd in division with 49-27-6 record (a western Canadian rival finished 1st)
Kings finished 3rd in division with 44-27-11 record (Vegas finished 4th)
