Leafs vs Sens now official. Marner gets 100th point, Matthews career goal 400, Thursday is going to be as much of a rest game as they can do with the cap. 4th line playing 25 minutes or something crazy.

Originally posted by MajingirLeafs will be the Ovechkin Caps. All the years before, they couldn't do anything in the playoffs. They'll win one year, then go back to early exits after that again, but all that matters is the cup.
The Ovi Caps are a decent comp for McIlroy finally winning the big one on Sunday. The current Leafs are more like Rickie Fowler trying to make the cut on Friday.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2024-25 Season Talk Thread
Battle of Ontario: Great! Toronto should put their 4th line out to start Game 1. Brady Tkachuk is gonna kill somebody on the opening shift.
Battle of Florida: Excellent! I think there should be a cage match with just Kucherov and Barkov.
LA-Edmonton: I was literally thinking a week ago how lame it was that these teams were going to play for the 4th postseason in a row without any real "juice" between them, and then Darnell Nurse tried to brain Quinton Byfield last night and Phil Danault and Corey Perry started yapping at each other through the media. Now it's must-see TV!
Dallas-Colorado: A WCF-quality matchup in the 1st round. Will Colorado fans boo Rantanen? He was as caught off-guard by the trade as anybody else.
Playoff hockey in Montreal again. I am always in favor of Original Six/major hockey markets getting into the playoffs (except Chicago and Pittsburgh).Comment

8 days ago, East playoff race:
8. Montreal 85 points 5 games remaining
--------
9. Detroit 79 pts 6 games remaining
10. NY Rangers 79 pts 5 games remaining
11. NY Islanders 78 pts 6 games remaining
12. Columbus 77 pts 6 games remaining
Right now, East playoff race:
8. Montreal 89 points 1 game remaining
--------
9. Columbus 87 points 1 game remaining
NOTE: All of the Blue Jackets wins since Apr 7 have been in regulation; if any of those 5 games reached OT, Columbus would already be eliminatedOriginally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2024-25 Season Talk Thread
I'm confident the Leafs are going to win the Battle of Ontario. Experience must count for something.
I haven't felt this confident of a Toronto team winning a playoff series since the Jays hosted the Mariners in the AL Wildcard series in 2022.
Oh, wait ...
(I still can't believe they lost that series.)Comment

Whoa! McDavid made 100 pts cool again. These other guys doing it now are just posers. But seriously, that’s a special special group right there.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

As for the Leafs, the only series I was actually confident going in was the Blue Jackets and Habs.
And knowing the Leafs, I still wouldn't be confident if they're up 3-0 in the series.Comment
