Again - I can assure you this will not make Bettman (or ESPN/TNT) happy. Why would they want to lose money? The ratings will be awful., just as they were for Dallas/Tampa in 2020 and Florida/Vegas in 2023 (and the Vegas/Seattle Winter Classic last year). Sure, their success is good for "league stability", but nobody cares about those teams on a national level, and it's unlikely anyone ever will, barring a McDavid-level talent landing in one of those markets. A Leafs/Oilers Final would generate more buzz and get better ratings in the US than any combo of Sun Belt teams. The league would MUCH rather have Toronto in the Final than a Florida team for the 6th consecutive season. What Bettman and American networks want are Chicago, NY Rangers, Boston, Pittsburgh, Philly, Detroit, Washington, Colorado, and yes, even Buffalo and Minnesota. Sprinkle in Toronto and Montreal and whoever has a superstar. These are the teams that draw interest and make $$$.

      Game 7?!

From losing 3 in a row and being outscored 8-1 in a 2 game span to now shutting them out and forcing a game 7?

This is the absolute make or break game for this core.

Win this game and people will forget about games 3-5 in the 2nd round and you now have home ice in the conference finals, something no Leaf team has had since 1999.

Lose, and we're blowing it up because the Leafs found a new way to disappoint their fans.

Leafs are in no settling territory.

They're either losing tomorrow or winning the cup.

Same happened with the Caps (In the Ovechkin era they've only made it past the 2nd round once, the year they won the cup), same with the Avs (also only made it past the 2nd round once in the MacKinnon era).

Sure, it's a problem I might not care about in 12 hours, but why does the western finals start on Wednesday and the east final starts Tuesday when the east finals is still going on today?

Not just that, but it would've made more sense for the Oilers series to be the Saturday game since that one is guaranteed. If Leafs don't win tonight, you're putting Canes/Panthers on a Saturday night while Oilers get a 1pm local game on Sunday?

                No pressure!

I’ve been saying this year is the Oilers revenge tour to everyone who would listen around me, and after Game 2 I was sure the Leafs had a really good shot at being their opponent. As it stands, even though I can’t stand Florida, we have an amazing final 5 who have all been knocking on the door at the least for the last few seasons (I’m counting the Stars loss in the Finals as still being recent and close!).

It’s partially me paying more attention, but this playoffs so far has been great. I expect more of the same as in the conference finals.

I cannot believe I’ve been rooting on the Leafs as much as I have. I really need Philly to come back to life and stop this madness…

Stolarz is backing up Woll tonight. Could just be mind games (Berube knowing Stolarz isn't gonna get in since if you have to pull Woll due to a bad performance, you've already lost the series) possibly to motivate the team even more knowing their goalie who went down in game 1 is back in 7.

Or maybe mind games beyond as well since now the Canes would have to prepare for Woll and Stolarz should they face the Leafs.

It's either the Leafs or a possible Stars vs Canes or Panthers finals, and wheres the fun in that?

A Leafs-Oilers cup finals would break Canadian television records. Not only breaking a cup drought in Canada, but the first all Canadian cup finals since 1989 (and only 3rd ever in the post original 6 era).

6 minutes in, Leafs have possession of the puck for all of 20 seconds and have been outshot 6-0.

                    Good start.

Drake bet on the Leafs and Bieber is behind the bench...now I'm worried.

Leafs have truly rolled over and died.

What a disgraceful effort from this team.

Another Game 7 poor effort at home (throw in that Game 5 effort against Columbus in that Best of Five Covid series as well).

We need a 2004 Boston Red Sox size maracle to pull this off and re-write the narrative of this team.

Edit: Kelly Hrudey in the second period intermission saying he didn't see this coming is high comedy. Where he has been the past 10 years?

I don't even know where they go from here.

Let Marner walk and Tavares better only come back under a real team friendly deal.

Core 4 should be dead and they should look elsewhere for top talent.

A fan throwing jersey on the ice, another fan throwing their beer at the players on the bench, this could get ugly.
