What are your recommendations on clubs, etc. I'm a lefty.Tags: None -
Re: I'm going to try golf...
Wow, there are so many choices your best bet is to go to a shop and hit as many as you can. Clubs feel very different to everyone, so what I may like you may hate. Golf is an addicting, expensive hobby, as you will find out. -

Yeah, I'm gonna go to a few shops today. If they measure you, do they put extensions or something on the club or do they have to order the exact size you need?Comment

they'll test your swing plane and determine if you'd need anything special, but i doubt you'd need extra long clubs or anything (You're not like 6'4 or taller, right?)
Also, you could try and find a really cheap set just to get you going, so you learn if you like to golf, before kicking out for a more expensive set (that's what i did, got a complete set w/bag for like 110 bucks, and then a couple years later I got my set of Nike Slingshot irons once i knew it'd be worth the price)Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: I'm going to try golf...
Yes, that is the plan. I'm definitely going to get a cheap set to start out with to see if I even like playing. I'm only 5'8" so I won't need any long clubs. Hopefully after they do some measurements, they'll have the right sized clubs for me.Comment

Re: I'm going to try golf...
I don't know if they are everywhere....but go to "Play It Again Sports" or "2nd Swing Golf" and get a used set. It's late in the season...so try to get out a few times with them and see how they feel. And see if you're going to stick with the sport. Then start replacing the used clubs in bunches next year. Maybe buy new irons first. Then a putter. Then your woods. Etc...Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: I'm going to try golf...
I didn't even bother getting measured or anything. IMO it's really not needed unless you're going to get into competition.
I did however swing a bunch of clubs at Dicks and found the one's that felt best for me. That's really the best thing to do. Once you know what clubs you like, check out www.tgw.com. They run some good deals at that site. That's where I ordered mine from.Comment

Take a few lessons if you can. Its actually good to do so right away before you develop any bad habbits. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx
