ESPN Integration in TW 2007 (360)
I haven't gotten Live Gold running yet so I'm wondering for those who have the game how this feature turned out? So far as I can tell EA has been using its lesser sports titles to test some of this stuff so how does it work and how good is it?Tags: None -

I love the ESPN radio integration. I quit watching the cards/mets in the sixth last night, but could easily listen to updates in between training or playing rounds. I have the ticker turned off...actually I think it is defaulted to off. -

So is there a decent ticker that scrolls across the bottom? If so, is it better than the lousy midget one on Madden 2007?Comment

The ticker seems pretty good. I can't remember what Madden's looked like (I don't think I ever turned it on in Madden). It had all the scores for the NBA preseason and hockey. It also had news items like Tiki retiring, and NFL injury news, etc.XBL: TancComment

The ticker is the best one yet in a sports game - lists top news and scores for all sports - even Champion's League soccer in Europe. It also notifies you when friends sign into Live.
ESPN Radio is fantastic. I have it set to run in the main menu areas and used it last night to follow the first few innings of the WS game between training exercises. It plays those top of the hour updates as you move between areas of the game and you may hear the same one twice if you do a really short exercise. It looks like they are refreshed every 5-10 minutes. You can also read top stories from ESPN news and articles from ESPN.com - with an accompanying photo in some cases."By respect for life we become religious in a way that is elementary, profound and alive."

One problem with the ticker - on my non-HD tv, only the top of the ticker line can be seen. In other words, something is going from right to left at the bottom of the screen, but you can't make it out.
Oh well, the ESPN radio is pretty cool.Comment

Re: ESPN Integration in TW 2007 (360)
I think the ESPN integration this year is really good. Once you start the game up and go into the menus the Live ticker starts to scroll across the bottom of the screen giving you very in-depth scores and even news items. Someone earlier mentioned the Tiki retirement announcement which I saw, and last night while I was playing it mentioned the new MLB agreement.
The radio integration comes up right away when you return from the course, practice, what have you and are back to the menus. I haven't been watching all the world series, but it gives updates every inning when I come back to the menus. They also have different reporters covering the same stories which is neat. I hope they continue this in the future.Comment

I just wish you had the option to get the ticker in-game.Comment

I agree, the ESPN intergration with Tiger is the best yet. The ticker is great, so much better than NCAA's, and the ESPN radio stuff is perfect. I love the ESPN news options, just wish it had the ESPN motion stuff from NBA Live.Comment

Re: ESPN Integration in TW 2007 (360)
That would be nice. If you were in the middle of a tournament you could pause it and flip over to the important game you are missing.
On another note, the radio can get somewhat annoying at times. What I mean is if you are in training and it's getting late at night you hear the same stories over and over and over. I'll still be leaving it on though.Comment

Re: ESPN Integration in TW 2007 (360)
It does the same thing only not at the cost of other gameplay features (ie ACTUALLY IN THE ****ING GAME AND NOT THE MENU) that could have been programed instead of this ESPN partnership crap.
Maybe it would have given them more time for mocap sessions with Tiger...god knows that improves the gameplay to no end --- unlike that stupid online crap or more courses or half way realstic physics or a lighting engine not born in the 16 bit age or....Last edited by lnin0; 10-24-2006, 09:23 PM.Comment
