TW 07 for PC and input choice
OK just got this puppy in today and I have no idea where you can pick your input choice (3 click, 2 click, game controller) even though the (lame) manual says you can. I want to use a game controller and there is no where I can see to choose that option. Any clues?

i believe you have to create a character first in order to pick how you want to swing. (3 click-joystick-2 click ..etc..)Comment

Re: TW 07 for PC and input choice
No, you actually don't. You can play as any of the pros. The swing stick is pretty tough and will make this game challenging. I've really only like the TW99 version and the cinematic type versus CGI type player models. There's more to learn in terms of camera controls etc.
What patch are you looking for..... my install updated something right away.Comment

Re: TW 07 for PC and input choice
Did you download the game or buy the DVD? If you DL'd it, EA Link is all that updated. If you bought the DVD, the only thing that updated might have been EASO the POS online play component. There has been NO patch from EA addressing the host of glaring gameplay and compatibility issues the game has.PC / Xbox One X

I was looking into getting this game until reading your post. I can't find issues on internet reviews. Could you or anyone tell me what they are? thanks.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

I don't own the PC version so I'm not sure. The PC review thread is located here: http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=186865
Also, there were some good points brought up in the 360 review thread as well.Comment

I believe the most glaring issue is that the CPU tends to play to your skill level no matter what level you play on. If you have a crappy tournament, so do they...if you have a good one, they always seem to as well.

The PC version does not have the CPU problem, if you shoot +19 in a tourney the winner will still have -10, and if you shoot -25 the runnerup will have -10 if that is what's predetermined. The winners in the tourney have ranged from -6 to -20 and is usually around -12 on average. If you have a lousy 1st round you will miss the cut easily.
The most glaring problem is that sidehill lies have no effect on your shot but to me that's not a gamebreaker as anybody that's played with a mouse on the hard difficulty knows you won't be shooting in the 50's regardless. It's difficult enough as it is so leaving the sidehill lies bug ends up giving me a fighting chance but I would prefer it be in there for realism. One other problem is playing against the pros directly in match play etc.. thay always seem to only drive the ball 200 yards, it's still competitive but it's weird seeing Tiger barely reach a fairway.
As for compatibility problems I've heard about game crashes with ATI cards that dont' have updated drivers but I have a an updated GeForce and have'nt experienced any crashes.
If or when they issue a course architect and editor and a patch for the lie than the game will be worth getting just for the infinite # of courses you can play and be able to modify tour seasons.
For me playing with a mouse just seems more intuitive than a joystick, much like a FPS, so it's hard to go back to playing with a gamepad.Last edited by Seymour Scagnetti; 12-07-2006, 05:46 PM.Comment

Sorry, I knew there was a problem, but wasn't sure exactly what it was. I remember BigBertha stating some of the problems in another thread, but I couldn't dig it up.Comment

Re: TW 07 for PC and input choice
Thanks for the info on this issues-Funny that there are a ton of reviews out there and the only one addressed that I read was on some kind of online problem. The version that got the best props was the regular Xbox version for the large number of courses,players-and sliders for difficulty! It made no mention of those features for the 360 and has less courses. I noticed that the regular Xbox version is cheap right now, maybe I'll go with that one.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

Re: TW 07 for PC and input choice
I got the reg. Xbox version and with sliders dialed in it plays an amazing game of golf. And-believe it or not-for the Xbox, the graphics are good / better than you'd expect. 21 courses here too. Now-I have played the 360 version before and of course-graphicwise and ball physics do have a edge over the Xbox version. They also have courses the Xbox version doesn't. But same for the Xbox version. I like em' both but for only 40 bucks, the old black and green box version is the one I'll use for now. If this post doesn't belong here, lock it up,probably should have started another one anyway.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment
