Once I learned (somewhat) what I was doing with the gamepad swing, this has made this game amazing! It is very difficult to break 40 for 9 holes on even easy courses with the white tees and easy pin placement. And that's with very mild conditions and no ball lie fix as of yet. To me, this has become the most realistic game of virtual golf I've ever played on the pc/console.

Jim --- gamepad swing is using the left thumbstick on your PC controller to swing a la the XBox Links04 version. The cameras in this are much improved over that excellent game however. It is very touchy at first but with practice it's doable. I was about to abandon it, but I can't do True Swing (with the mouse) and not a big fan of 3 click anymore.
The aiming is basically as if you were out on the golf course. There is no aiming circle in expert mode. In the lower modes, you can go into the menu and choose "shot target", giving you an approximation of where the ball will land if you hit it true, but that's not realistic to me. The only gauges you get in expert mode for gamepad swing is approx. club distance for ea. club in your bag, distances to a spot on the course from the overhead map, "find flag" which will give you a quick look at the pin placement, and once on the green you're given distance to pin, ball to hole height, commentators feedback on what they think the putt will do and some reverse read cameras to read the green as you would if you were there. But there is no green grid as in the lower difficulty levels.
Buying this off of Ebay for $20 new (from one of those Taiwan dealers) was quite the bargain.Comment
