Re: 2007 US Open
Course was definitely tougher today. The greens were much drier but players were still able to have their ball check up. Thousands of people followed Tiger all day (no surprise). Number 3 hole played tough. Pin was placed in the clear back and if you were behind the green you had to go past the hole to prevent your ball from coming back down to your feet. Rich Beem dropped the F-Bomb after teeing off on #10. A volunteer was kicked out after someone hit a chip shot short and he decided to yell "Gotta put more on it than that!!!" All in all a good day and no bird attacks.
Also, mjb2124 and to anyone who might go...DO NOT TRY AND SNEAK YOUR CELL PHONE IN!!! You will be given the choice to leave or have it taken. I was "lucky" and was stopped at the gate and had to ride the shuttle back to the Mills and put my phone in my car. Also, if you live near Oakmont, wait to purchase merchandise because on Tuesday the public course will have all left over merch. on sale for 40% off. They did this in 94 and a member I know through a friend said about the sale."Besides pride, loyalty, discipline, heart, and mind, confidence is the key to all the locks." --Joe Paterno

Re: 2007 US Open
what is going on here?? No one wants to win this thing. As I type this...Furyk is in trouble at 17 and Tiger is only one back, but it just doesn't even seem like Tiger is playing that good.Comment

Re: 2007 US Open
Looks like Furyk is probably out of it.
Woods has a legitimate opportunity at Birdie on 17.Comment

Re: 2007 US Open
AWESOME experience today. Very tiring, but a ton of fun. I also got some great seats in the stands at the 18th tee. Bottom row, about 10 feet away from the guys teeing off.
I heard from my sister that I can be clearly seen after Tiger tees off the 18th. Just look for the guy in a white collared shirt and black Steelers hat. A little kid should be right beside me (my nephew).
Too tired to really get into everything, but it's a great experience. You really will never understand why those guys had so much trouble getting out of the rough until you walk on that rough. It's incredibly thick and deep.Comment

If you can clear your neighbors house, you win. Oh ya it has to be with a 4-iron.Comment

Re: 2007 US Open
Those seats are great. I was there Wednesday - Sunday (I'm VERY exhausted now!) My dad and I would go to that spot each day so we could see the 17th green and the 18th tee. We also liked sitting on the hill behind 12. That way you could see them finish 12 and tee of on 13.
On Sunday, I was sitting about 6 rows behind the pin on 18. Was there from 8:30 AM until Cabrera got the trophy. I spent the first 3 days walking around to different spots on the course, but wanted to spend Sunday on the 18th green.
Wonderful experience!MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
NBA: Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic
NCAA: Penn State Nittany Lions, Boston College EaglesComment
