    Gamebreaker?

    I haven't bought a new TW game since 06.
The game is cool but the gamebreaker is a little ridiculous. If you can save it for a par 3 you get a hole in one every time. The first few times it's great but it's quite an unfair advantage.
For those who have played 08 I have 3 questions.....
    1. Is the gamebreaker still there and if so can you turn it off?
    2. Are there enough upgrades in the game to warrant buying it instead of sticking with 06?
    3. If you win a tournament do you actually win more than $2800? That seems to be the most I can win in 06.

    Re: Gamebreaker?

I skipped last years tiger and played 06 for a long time & I would recommend the upgrade...

1st gamebreaker is gone which I was glad to see... Difficulty is amped up from 06 so its not a given to shoot low 60's every round. Swing stick is much more sensitive...At first I was slicing everything.

They also added a confidence rating, so a few bad shots in a row, or misplay same hole on a given course a cpl times and you will struggle a lil bit making hitting that perfect shot just a lil more difficult ...Building your character up is a long process...

There are alot more golfers & courses compared to 06

they also got rid of the pinpoint accuracy from 06 and replaced it with a circle.Your shot can land anywhere in that circle and makes some shots a lil risky.Depending on your players ratings that circle will very dramatically in size.

It plays a much tougher game of golf, especially tour difficulty. you actually need to be on top of your game or it'll be a long round.

All in all...I would reccomend this years tiger...much improved over 06, didn't play 07 so to me its a good upgrade

      Cool, thanks for the info.
I noticed on 06 (2 years later) that the gamebreaker can be turned off.
But I like the fact that you can't shoot low 60's every round. Takes the fun away when you can stick just about every approach shot within 2 feet of the hole.
Plus there's a new course in the game which I've seen in person (Westchester)
