HARD (modified) the best way to play this year

Like most of the other cyber golfers out there, I have struggled a bit with TW08. Part of me likes that, and part of me doesn't. My background is that I'm a casual gamer and I like a challenge, but like to have fun as well. Last year, with TW07, I only enjoyed the game on the TOUR PRO mode. I felt, and have always felt the default mode is too arcadish, with the power boost, additional spin, and putting line available to you in that mode. I know I'm in the minority with enjoying TOUR PRO more, but I do, and quite frankly - too each his own. I like the fact there are a few different modes to play.

Fast forward to TW08. I just can't improve at all in the TOUR PRO mode - major hooks and slices so much so it's just killing my score. I don't expect, nor do I even want to shoot 59 or 62 each time, but I also don't want to shoot 85 or 91 or 100. I don't have time to practice all the time, nor do I really want to. So, I've experimented a bit.

I have found that the HARD difficulty, modified a bit - NO POWER BOOST, NO ADDITIONAL SPIN, (you can turn those off) and the choice NOT TO USE THE PUTT LINE (has to be a conscious choice not to use it) - has been a very nice solution to the Default (easy or balanced is too easy) and Tour Pro is too hard.

This may be the best option for TW08 for those like me - likes a simulation, but not so hard that's it's not fun.

Is there anyway to set-up online games with these conditions?
Anyone else like the game this way?

Regarding TOUR mode - I think we've all struggled a bit.

Currently I'm fairly solid from tee-to-green............the key is (just like real life) concentration, and swing tempo. Once I became consistent with both aspects, the days of 80 yard hooks/slices are far away.

Now it's all about making putts.

TW '08, once you 'master' it, is WONDERFUL!
