I'm thinking about getting TW08 for the 360....

Should I? I havent played Tiger much since Tiger 06 but when I heard 08 had East Lake I just knew I wanted it. I used to work at East Lake when I was younger as a caddie and even played a round of golf there. Is there anything I should look for in this game and by that I mean any glitches, bugs or any instances of the game freezing? Thanks a bunch.

I have not had any freezing or bug problems. EA patched the previous problems with an automatic download from Xbox Live that took about 6 seconds. It is a great game and I am loving it.

I finally opened it up last night and I'm GLAD that I did.

It's not easy like the previous Tiger Woods games. You need to keep a focus on your swing. Just a little bit off and you'll get a major case of the shanks.

      It plays great.

I used the XBox Live Camera and mapped my face into the game. It worked out pretty good.

I can't wait to play with some of my fellow OSers online.

Now that I the patch has been released, I can recommend it without reservation. I think they did a good job with East Lake, although for some artistic license reason, they decided to get "creative" with the color palette and texture it with what I feel are shades of green that are not native to East Lake. It's not as bad as what they did with Westchester, which has an otherworldly lime green based palette, but I think they could have settled for something more organic looking. Seriously, Westchester is so hard on my eyes in this sense that I won't play it unless I have to.

East Lake is fun and challenging to play. It is truly one of the most unique courses I've played in the Tiger Woods series... well, of the real courses anyway.

My exact thoughts -add ons-The CPU opponents are as tough as a can of rusty nails-at least for me. They will eat you up if you start playing like a dufus. I like the fact that you can play any course in normal game mode without going to career, with the password,of course. This game can consume a good deal of your time if not careful-building up your player and such. Overall-worthy purchase/excellent graphics/challenging gameplay. One glitch I did notice is that sometimes(rarely) someone will hit the ball and the ball stays in the picture although it actually traveled. At first it annoyed me but I'm use to it and laugh sometimes cause it is similar to my real swing but when I do that, the ball stays put!...........

If you like the game of golf AT ALL, don't hesitate to get this game. Plays a wonderful game of golf, bad putting mechanic and all, on Tour Pro difficulty.

East Lake is one of the reasons I am thinking about this game. I'm from the Atlanta area and used to work at East Lake 10 years ago.

Did the patch you're speaking of fix the "fourth round not counting" bug?

I'm liking this game more than when I first got it! it can draw you in for hours trying to master the stick swing. I had a decent swing and all of a sudden I started pulling again. Just like in real golf, start a bad habit and pay for it. I went back to practice and just about got dialed in again. I was getting too fast on my back swing.

Ok guys, a question about Career Mode. Is it challenging? Does it have long-term play appeal? Basically, I'm trying to choose between getting this game and NHL 08. I'm leaning more towards TW 08 right now, but since I'm a career/dynasty mode kind of guy, I just want to make sure it's good.

                    Thanks for you help.

IMO-this game has a huge learning curve and it will challenge you-no doubt. I haven't delved into the career mode too much-need to pump up my golfers stats first. As for this game vs NHL08. I guess that's a apples and oranges comparison. As for me,I played both,Tiger is here, and NHL is gone.

No. I'm sure it will be addressed in the second patch, but I'd say we won't see it until November.

Mine kept freezing up (post patch)...I got the point where I took it back and go the PS3 version. Not sure if it's my xbox or not but every EA Sports game I play freezes up. Madden was virtually unplayable. None of my other games freeze up.

It's a great game but for me, it was unplayable on xbox360 (couldn't get througha round w/o is freezing my system).
