Who else is starting to get the itch?
It's that time of the year where I'm starting to bounce off the walls again and I feel like I need to play some golf...pronto. I'm just waiting for the rest of the snow to melt around here so I can get out there and hit the links. Who else is with me?Tags: None -

For real though, this damn midwest weather sucks, so I won't be golfing for a while. -

I am ready.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Me!!! I live near 3 courses here in PA, all about a 15 minute drive from one another. There is a Par 6 at Mt. Union (American Legion Country Club). I am determined to hit in the 80-85 round at that course before the year is over. I usually play well through the first 6 holes, then when I hit that Par 6, it kills me. That is the only course in the area I haven't scored below an 86, and it p***** me off.Highheat's O's Franchise

I'm just hoping that I don't hit any houses this year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Who else is starting to get the itch?
It's an 18 hole, Par 74. The Par 6 on the 7th hole is 602 yds from the mens tee. The women's tee is only a Par 5, about 465 yds. I've literally had drives when I play it sometimes and my second shot is about 50-75 yds in front of the ladies tee. It's the only Par 6 I've ever played, and in PA that I believe, but my friend swears he's played another one in Maryland.
Here's a review a co-worker of mine wrote when he came for a visit a few years ago.
The American Legion Country Club in Mt. Union has the oldest par 6 in Pa. The score card is flip flopped front nine for back. With the Agusta like altitude changes and not being marked clearly I missed an eagle putt I thought was for birdie. The par five 9th is as high as it is long same with the par four 11th. The par 6 is wicked long. The course needs a little TLC but the Sherman Tank at the bottom of #11 is a must see.Last edited by highheatkingsb; 02-03-2008, 05:33 PM.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Who else is starting to get the itch?
I'm dissappointed in myself for not manning (MVP) up and just going out to play. A little frost used to not stop me. Here in NY, it's supposed to be 60 tomorrow, I'm almost feeling like a sick day is in order.Comment

Funny!
As for me, I always have the inch. This Colorado winter has been brutal. We had a basketball game near the course I play regularly (couple of hours from where I live), with as much snow as they have gotten, there won't be golf there until June.Comment
