Why can we get a real sim golf game. I mean WTF. Still no caddies in the game. I like to see more PGA players like Phil Mickelson, but that wont happen since he probably doesnt want to be in the game. The announcing sucks so bad, but in 09 there will be 2 different commantators, but it will probably be very limited. TW Series feels like an acrade game then a sim of real golf. They never change a thing except adding new courses. They have like 5 people in the crowd. They dont cheer, when they do cheer it sounds like they recorded it in a studio with 3 people. Why not go to a live event and record some audio. I will not be buying 09 unless these things are addressed. Presentation is just as important as game play.

Actually the 08 version for 360 is pretty SIM when you play in just tour mode. granted the caddies are not there or Phil but that should not make it SIM. Give it a rent and stay with Tour mode....outside of the old putting system it's pretty good! -

Yeah but where is the presentation, the sounds in the game are bland. When on tour, I want the tournaments to sound like tounaments, not like their are 3 people in the crowd when they cheer. And when you make a good shot, you hear loud roars. It is arcady. Last years sucked, you couldnt even hit the bull straight no matter how you pulled back and forward the swing stick. Just make the presentation better is all, have replays of a great golf shot. I will be renting. Vejay Singh is coiming out with a golf game but that will probably suck. Also, you should be able to play Tiger Woods or other PGA players in tour mode. I dont want to make up my own player thats boring and get stupid money to buy clubs, can we say boring!!!!!Comment

No everything I wrote was not about presentation. The swing stick sucks, they have to tweak it. I want the game to feel real. Also what is REALLY ANNOYING is the stupid "Spin the ball in the air" WTF is that. In golf you can't spin the ball when its already in flight. Get rid of that. You should have to put spin on it before the ball is hit. How can you like the same product EA is putting out year after year, with new courses and and new things to purchase. Doesn't anyone agree with me here?Comment

While I don't agree with how you have tried to make your point, I do agree that the Tiger Woods series is way to arcadish in the DEFAULT MODE. My friend, if you want more of a sim, simply set the game to TOUR PRO MODE; I assure you it is much more simulation like and I assure you that you'll be challenged. There are no power boosts, there is no spin in air, there is no putting line for you to follow. Save your opinion of the game until you try this mode. I won't play Tiger in the default mode, but it's a very good game in the Tour Pro setting.Comment

It was difficult but in a cheap way. Driving and iron play was okay. The only challenge was keeping the ball straight as distance controls was handled very simply, if you swing all the way back you got 100%.
The short game required patience and some luck because of how poor EA handled this. The putting animations are off. I mean they are over exaggerated, probably to show off how far back your player swings.
Chipping, bunker play and shots from 75 yards ranged from insanely easy to it's impossible to hit this fairly routine golf shot.Comment

Do what I do. Play on Tour difficulty; turn off all putting assists, including the grid; use the distance/elevation marker and run it back and forth over the green to read the contours. So much for making every putt.
I consider the putting in Tiger 06 to be the best I've ever seen in a game. Sometimes with these games, you have to make them sim if you want them to play sim.Comment

some things in this game do irritate me, but I will say TOUR mode helps out somewhat. Don't like the way the AI in tournaments plays to your level. I understand they wanna make it so your not always out of it, but the rubberband AI gets annoying. Would be nice if one bad round would put you out of contention unless you had a really good round after it.Also would like to see AI opponents with you in a tournament or atleast the option. PUt me in a 4-some. If you can't get a players likeness in game let me create him. you have gamefacewhich is very complex, let me edit the opponent list in memory and create him, or even a guy with his name just looking like another guy. Even create fake players with ability to edit/rename them. Would be much better than just playing every tournament alone and watching scoreboard after every hole to figure out if I am up,down,or tied since I cannot visually see my opponent.
Soome of the Tiger challenges were difficult because some of the Pros had immaculate short games. even if they made a bad shot, they would always recover next shot. Some of those Bingo Bango Bongo challenges no matter what you did CPU would do it just a lil better.
Hated when CPU did stupid things but it ended up being ok..Using a wood in the rough and hitting the green. I know there were other things I would think WTF just can't remember them at the moment.
All in all, its not a bad game, just has some issues but its a fun overall Gaming experience.Comment
