THE way to play TW on PC
I recently decided to revisit the gamepad swing, though not through the gamepad swing option. There was something about the gamepad option that didn't sit well with me. Subsequently, I couldn't get the mouse True Swing to work consistently either. I was really shanking shots hard left even after trying several mice (mouses?), but I didn't want to go back to the gamepad as it was. I remembered using the program Joy To Key and thought if I could calibrate it fairly well, it might be useable with the gamepad, though staying in the True Swing option. So I bumped everything to the extreme speeds in the Joy To Key program, calibrated the gamepad (in the control panel, which sometimes just means moving it around in the testing screen), and I made sure that the mouse speed (also in the control panel) was set to the fastest speed, keeping the precision control box checked (if you have one). After about two rounds I was really getting used to this and finding the game to be enjoyable again (I have TW07 with the patch installed, playing on Advanced). I found that not every shot is automatic. Also, on a lot of shots it was a matter of using the "feel" again, especially on putts and chips. The only drawback is that for some reason putts over approx. 45-50' are not reachable, no matter how hard I swing. However, since the mouse is still active, you can still use it for those monster putts.
