So my "disc unreadable" problem is hopefully gone.
I was able to return my xbox to costco today (man what a great policy)... got a cash card, and bought a second one...
I did lose some of the DLC and other stuff, but managed to copy over my saved games to the memory card I had...
My xbox live account and everything copied beautifully.
Just in case, I took the TW09 back to bestbuy and got a fresh copy if that was the case, but everything I was reading was suggesting the xbox/dvddrive was dying...
Anyway, just played a round and no crash!
We'll see how online works... really frustrating when you're tied with a guy thru 12 holes of simul play... and then it dies. It got progressively worse too... happening mid round, as opposed to in between saves...
P.S. Costco rocks... another example of why to buy from them... even for non-electronics (some things have a more limited warranty).
I even got the cash difference from when I bought the first bundle... over $100! I wasn't really attempting to do so... or expecting... but I'll take it.
