I've been playing the game on Tour difficulty, and I'm having a bad time with putting. I guess the real problem I'm having is sizing up distance. First, any tips on figuring distance, and second, any help on how people are determining the strength for the stroke?

I am not great at the game but my putting is very solid. I always try to use 100% with under or over spin. Also remember that like real golf uphill putts will break more than you think & down hill putts will break less. Finally, remember what Loren Roberts, the boss of the moss, says," If you are not sure, hit it straight."
