PGA Tour 2K25 Season 2 Patch Arrives 5/14- Notes Included

Season 2 in PGA 2K25 starts tomorrow, and a huge patch will be dropping as well. The patch is expected to be released 24 hours from now. The details of the patch have been shared out with PGA 2K Community Council members, and we are now able to share them out to others.

Main highlights include:

• Old Course at St. Andrews added
• New Clubhouse Pass released
• Challenge Mode added
• Player Cards added
• Pot bunkers added to the course designer
• New community courses added to Ranked Modes
• Gameplay tuning...adjustments to shot types as well as Transition, Rhythm, Swing Path, & Contact
• Course designer updates...water planes added back in, pot bunker brushes added, M&K fixes, "floating water" spline fixes, etc.
• MyCareer fixes...includes an update to address leaderboard score dispersion issues
• Online fixes...includes a table that shows potential merit and VC earnings in Ranked Tour events

So, it looks like Limited Edition clubs will cost THREE Evo Tools to upgrade to Ruby/Amethyst...

Also, fittings are now done differently. If you add multiple of the same kind of fitting onto a club type that's Ruby or Amethyst, there are diminishing returns on each one after the first.

They have also added Extremely Firm/Fast and Ultra Firm/Fast course conditions options into the game...

So, it looks like Limited Edition clubs will cost THREE Evo Tools to upgrade to Ruby/Amethyst...

This basically makes Limited Edition clubs worthless, unless they are already pre-Evo'ed to Ruby. It would cost the equivalent of 4500 VC to upgrade your limited clubs 2 tiers from Sapphire to Ruby and then Amethyst, due to the fact it costs 3 Evo Tools at each level. For bog-standard clubs, it only costs 2 Evo Tools at each level, so it would only cost the equivalent of 3750 VC.

Any while you do lose fittings on standard clubs when Evo'ing them, fittings are very easy to obtain, and I have a huge stockpile of them, so that benefit of the Limited Edition clubs is really cancelled out.

In good news...the MyCareer leaderboards seem fixed.

Simmed ahead to my next season and played the first event at Spyglass Hill. Did 4 Dynamic rounds for the event. I shot -6 and finished in 31st place. Here's how the Top 10 looked:

That's using "Pro" for both User and Opponent Difficulty.

In good news...the MyCareer leaderboards seem fixed.

Simmed ahead to my next season and played the first event at Spyglass Hill. Did 4 Dynamic rounds for the event. I shot -6 and finished in 31st place. Here's how the Top 10 looked:

At least you can just sim to the next season, and don't have to completely start your whole career over. In my mind, I just basically made up the story that my golfer had a season-ending injury.

But yeah, even having to do that isn't great.

I like that this reads like you're worried about this being added, when I know you're secretly in glee about what you can do with this on a certain society... 😰

I do like settings like that being added along with St. Andrews, it makes sense why they would with it being a proper links course and it should give more freedom for people to create links-style courses in the future (along with maybe making future official links courses more possible to play like real life?). More options is always a good thing.

Please help by explaining, regarding the last line in my Career fix of changing the AI opponent difficulty to default. Do I do this for one tournament then I can make changes?

It feels like they've gone too much the other way on the leaderboards. Now there seems to only be a 5 to 6 shot spread from last place to 1st place each round. Think I prefered it before haha!

That line is saying that you should set the difficulty all back to Default, and then re-tune your preferred AI settings off of that as you play events, The changes they made re-set the baseline for AI difficulty, so any previous changes you made will react differently than they did before the update.
