    EA Gamernet Challenges

So I finally played the 360 version last night (been stuck on the Wii version b/c it rocks) and I noticed the Gamernet challenges. It appears that these challenges were created by people not using my same settings which is a bit ridiculous.

For instance - playing on Tour Pro mode I'm never going to hit that monster 340 yard drive since I can't use the power-up feature.

It just seems like they would only show you the ones that were done using your same basic settings.

Or at least allow you to change just for the challenge... I don't know - just seems kind-of pointless if you're not on a level playing field.

Gamernet Challenges are just kind of an extra thrown in. You will see some pretty random ones and often you won't see any at all. Not sure what the exact logic behind it is. I barely notice them any more.

Is there any real use for these gamernet points that you win during an offline round?

I think there are one or two achievements but the amounts gained on the offline rounds are just a drop in the bucket compared to how many you need. I haven't really looked at the online ranking system to see if gamernet points factor in.

I thought that the game filters them based on your current level? At least I thought 09 did. Whenever I saw them playing tour pro they were usually realistic.

Could have been wind conditions too. A gale wind in the right direction and you can hammer them on any level.
          Go Sabres!

I hope that is the case. But on most of the long drive challenges people were blowing it out there 330-350 yards. If your on Pro Tour mode (even using Tiger) then you can't do this without some seriously advantageous winds or something b/c you don't have the power-up feature enabled.
