Are your attributes affected after playing online?

I didn't notice the screen popping up after I played a round with a friend and shot pretty well, I remember hearing every shot that you take would factor in to your overall score.

    So.... anyone know?

Yeah it does. My attributes took a nosedive after a couple of online rounds today.

      Good to know....

Did you get the pop up screen after your round identifying your gains and losses?

Perhaps it is only for ranked matches. I have been playing online with friends and my skills have not changed.

Interesting... Pappy, were these ranked matches? I can't remember what I was playing.

So most of you play with your user created player when playing online? Aren't you at a disadvantage if the person you play against uses say Tiger or another pro?

I have only played the Play the Pro online even, with everything being capped at 7 I can say with about 85% certanty that my attriubutes didn't in that mode.

Generally for me I use my created guy and my friends do also. I would rather stick with my guy anyway since I am used to him than go jumping back and forth.

Actually they do but you don't see it until you play a game in a mode that updates your skills. What happens is that your skills are based on a rolling average in the various categories. So you play a Play the Pro round starting with a FIR% of 70%. During the round you manage to drop your FIR% to 50%. It doesn't change your skills after the round but it does affect your average so the next time your skills are updated, that round will be factored in.

I kind of got a surprise my first Tournament Challenge after my PTP round. I beat the challenge and played really well. Get to the skill screen and everything drops considerably even though my average "Dots" actually moved up. It is because that PTP round hadn't been factored in yet.

So basically everything (online vs other people, all tournaments) get factored in? I played a daily tournament and i seem to remember my stats updating after that, but not after i finished a head to head match with someone random person online.

I not only play with my created player in online multiplayer, I keep his attributes in the 8 - 9.5 range, across the board. That's where they stay when you don't do any of the Haney drills. I hit the ball far enough to suit me with an "8" power attribute anyway, and honestly, I don't see where the other attributes actually change the rest of my game that much.

Finally, I play Tour Pro mode matches online with meterless precision putting. I missed a 6 foot putt on the 17th hole which wound up costing me the match. The guy I was playing against asked me how I could miss a 6 foot putt by running it by the hole 10 feet (which I made coming back for par)... he was like "dude, how'd you miss it that far!?". I told him I was using precision putting with the meter turned off. He came back and said, "you're using precision putting in multiplayer online... and meterless precision putting at that?? You'll never be able to compete with that, I'm using Classic putting, that's the only way to compete"

I wasn't aware that Classic putting was available at any point in Tour Pro mode. This was a shock to learn that it is available in Tour Pro mode online! I wondered how some of the guys I was playing online in Tour Pro weren't running the ball way by the hole like I was on occasion. Even knowing this, there's no way I can play this game with Classic putting. It's like popping a bag of microwave popcorn, just set the microwave on the right time setting, hit the start button, and voila... success. It's what drove me away from playing Tiger Woods 08 and 09, less than 6 months after purchase. Meterless precision putting has put the mystery and intrigue back in the game for me.

If most are using the classic putting online then it will just be a greater sense of accomplishment for you when you beat them with PP and no meter!!!
