Anouncers in TW10
Has anyone else seem to notice that the comments are purely random that they make? I mean, I put the ball 8 inches from the cup, 127 yards out, and Scott Van Pelt is replying "oh he can't be happy with that..." Then the computer controlled character nails the tee shot into the brush for a 89 yard drive from the tee and the response is, "looks like a pretty good lye..." Or when you drive for 299 yards, straight down the fairway and the response is, "could have been better."

Re: Anouncers in TW10
Agreed. But they really suck every year. The script is bare bones for TW games. No competition means lame, generic one liners. I would like to hear details about the course history, about the players doing well in the current tournament, etc. But the status quo is just awful.Comment

Re: Anouncers in TW10
The announcers are awful again; part of a "presentation" that needs help - the camera angles are nice, the added leaderboards are cool, but it's incomplete.
The commentary is worthless. I'm playing in the final round this morning in "play the pro's" and I'm +3 for the day; now, I'm -2 for the tourney as I was -5 heading into round 4; commentary is only about my +3. It needs to be much more interactive for the tourney, not just the specific round you're currently playing. They also need more reporters on the course; they need to flash what you've done for the tourney on that specific hole; i.e. Round 1 Par, Round 2 Par, Round 3 birdie - so when I step to the tee in that final round the commentary is, "He's made par twice and birdie once thus far; let's see how he fares today." Something more than the absolute bare bones this has now.Comment

Re: Anouncers in TW10
The big thing I hate are the stupid criticisms: "Oh, it looks like he needs a shiny new putter!"
"(expletive deleted) you Kelly. I'm gonna stick that shiny new putter up your (expletive deleted)."
I wish commentary was straight ... none of the goofiness, unless it's David Feherty. He gets some witty criticism.Comment

When you're playing a tournament, it would be nice for the commentators to comment on how you've done on that hole on other days, and maybe how the field is doing on that hole today. Instead we get the same generic crap that's been in golf games since...well, since there was commentary in golf games.
The whole tournament game needs to be much more interactive (with realistic scores)

This is a must! You would think that commentary would be a fairly easy thing to nail down in golf, especially compared to team sports.

I also notice that they just took many of the same lines from the previous announcers and had these 2 new clowns say them.
The one line I hate is Scott Van Pelt saying somethig along the lines of "sounds like a lot of action going on around the golf course." Well yeah, there's 120 people playing, something is bound to happen somewhere.
I too think I will turn them off. I usually hit the X button and skip what they're saying anyways. God I wish my wife had an X button.Comment

I think they do make comments about previous rounds in that tournament. I heard Kelly whatsername say something about struggling on a certain hole yesterday.

You're right, they do comment about the tourney in the PGA Season mode, but not in "Play the Pro's" - the commentary still lacks greatly and improvement is needed.Comment

Re: Anouncers in TW10
I finally bit the bullet and turned the announcers off.
I hate them that much.
And you know what? I prefer it. None of that stupid, inane chatter or those insults.
I wanted to punch both of them in the face at the end of a bad round ... or a after a 50-foot putt attempt that I just missed by 1 foot and them saying "what a bad putt."
I do miss the hole preview guy though. There should be a slider for the commentator and hole preview guy. Unfortunately they're all tied to the same slider.
No matter. I still prefer the game without those idiotic announcers.
This was supposed to be improved? Other than the -76 tour pro online tourney scores, it's my biggest pet peeve with an otherwise fine game.
Another thing - why is there no option to turn off equipment boosts? I want to wear some of the shirts and what-not, but I don't want the equipment boost.Comment

Re: Anouncers in TW10
I turn off the announcers in just about every sports game I own.
I stream my own music while playing golf. On 360 you can get TVersity and stream online music, mp3s, etc.
I don't really need some announcer to tell me where my ball landed.Go Sabres!Comment
