Re: Help with putting
I've played the game since day 1 with the putting meter off. A couple of days ago I turned it on to see how it worked, and the truth is I found it confusing and difficult. For me, putting without the meter is more intuitive. So try that. There's a lot of play in the swing so you have to keep the swing straight. One way to do that is to watch the meter instead of the golfer animation while swinging. Why not turn on mulligans and go to a green and practice putting from different locations?Last edited by baa7; 06-16-2009, 06:24 AM. -

Re: Help with putting
Putting is very realistic this year. It is also much harder. Putts are no longer automatic.
A few things:
-The power meter does not take into account the condition of the green. It is vital that you know the green speed and factor that in. In the pouring rain, greens are going to be very slow. On the other hand, a downhill putt on very fast greens is going to be very, very touchy.
-Speed and line are both important this year. In past games, as long as you had the line right and the power close, you could sink most putts.
The way I learned is to start on pro and use the putt preview. First, I line up the putt as best I can where I think it will go, then I use the putt preview to check it. Then adjust as needed. Just keep doing that until you get putts close without the preview, then you can move to tour pro.Go Sabres!Comment
